Separating- can husband walk in house whenever he likes?

Hi my husband is meant to be moving out in a few days, am staying with our children and im going to be paying the mortgage. He keeps saying he can come and go as he pleases as its half his house as well, but I will feel really uncomfortable if I have to worry he could walk in the house whenever he gets the urge. Also am I legally allowed to put a chain on the door? I just hate the thought that he could come and go anytime he feels like it, thank you

Can I put a chain on the door though? I'd let him in I just don't want him walking in at any time without warning

I don't want to lock him out but he won't be living here and I hate the thought I could be home in bed or something and he walks in unannounced

I think a chain would be OK as you'll be living alone now. Won't stop him when you're out though.

As long as you let him in, there is no harm in having a chain on the door when you are in the house. If challenged, simply say it is to make you feel safer from the world in general.
