Credit card...HUGE CONFUSION

  • @chatty chappy... i applied for the new credit card online and asked for them to do a balance transfer ...the begining of the week it had gone through and whilst looking on my online banking of natwest the new credit card had transfered the money in to the natwest credit card account but it then made the balance at about 200.00 so i made an additional payment and then it made it to 400.00 roughly. so have i simply just over paid? if so what do i do next. thank you all for your help

To where? What card did you pay off with the BT?
the begining of the week it had gone through and whilst looking on my online banking of natwest the new credit card had transfered the money in to the natwest credit card account but it then made the balance at about 200.00

This makes it sound like either you have 2 Natwest CCs or you have requested to BT from and to the same card?

I think this is where the confusion is coming in for any replies.

So you have made a payment to your credit card?

Or you have made a payment with your credit card? therefore increasing the balance.

    the credit card is natwest
i did the balance transfer and have not used it to buy anything else. thats when i noticed that the balance then said around 200.00 so i thought this was outstanding so i paid it ...then i checked today and the balance says 400.00 roughly i believe the credit limit was 2,500 im wondering if ive over paid ??

Is that a credit or a debit balance?

On the statement for the original credit card you should see:

1 - the debt balance before the balance transfer
2 - how much was transferred from the new account
3 - the balance after the transfer (check whether it is a credit on the card or a debt)
    4 - Your payment amount
5 - The balance after your payment.

If it still doesn't make sense then post the exact figures here and we might be able to help.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

You are definitely confused, VISA do not issue cards, what you have is a VISA card issued by a bank or other card issuer. You really need to put down in bullet points what has happened in sequence, because at the moment it's very difficult to understand what has taken place.
