You need to clarify some details.
What CC is it?
How much is your credit limit?
Have you used for anything other than a BT?
What was the balance on your last statement prior to doing the BT?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Maybe the account ended up in credit by about £240 (maybe with a refund) but the OP thought it was a negative balance so paid more into the card thus doubling the credit to about £500.
Impossible to tell without more information.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

the credit card is natwest
i did the balance transfer and have not used it to buy anything else. thats when i noticed that the balance then said around 200.00 so i thought this was outstanding so i paid it ...then i checked today and the balance says 400.00 roughly i believe the credit limit was 2,500 im wondering if ive over paid ??0 -
i had used it for purchases way before the balance transfer x0

Your statements will tell you why your balance is now what it is.0

I would check that the balance hasn't transferred twice. Where did the transfer come from?0
-
Did you transfer the balance the wrong way around?
If you have the balance on X, and a promo card Y, then you phone Y and get them to "transfer the balance" from X. (Basically they just send the money to X, thus removing the balance on X and creating a balance on Y.)0
