.............. and all set against the individual accounts with different reference numbers.
  • I'm surprised that BoS haven't put together a Club Lloyds type offering yet. They haven't had a new current account for ages. Maybe this is the signal of a change coming?

I'd say it's the opposite, but who knows.

Maybe but depends what they decide. 4% is better than 3% but whether that still holds true for only £5000 with the former as opposed to £15000 for the latter depends on your circumstances.

Anyone know who will incur the charge for the direct debit - Tesco or Bank of Scotland. It says on their website that the direct debits can be made to accounts in your name. Has anyone set them up to someone else's account.

Today I have opened 1 Tesco current, 1 Internet Saver and set up 6 DDs with no problems.

Wow you're lucky! My son set up two current accounts yesterday and access to internet banking. He received two texts telling him to look out for some forms in the post he needs to sign and return. Online just showing the current accounts are being processed. He is unable to set up saver accounts probably have to wait until current accounts are showing online.

Hopefully not. If they did, it would have a negative impact to some people, especially a sole account holders. With Lloyds style you could only get 4% for maximum of £5,000. BOS is paying 3% interest but you could have 3x£5,000

I must be on the Tesco naughty step as the last few times I've tried to set up a DD, I got the 'more info required message' followed by a letter requesting hard copy evidence - a bank statement - showing that the bank account to be debited is in my name. Not easy when the bank account was set up a few minutes earlier!!

I set up my two DDs from BOS to Tesco for all three of my BOS accounts (very easily) - today I've received six letters from Tesco telling me that they have set up the DDs. One for each DD.

Yes'm standard practice. Must cost them a bit though.
