Using Twitter seems now to be the general recommendation based on Octopus' non-performance with emails. It would be interesting to know via Twitter their comments on the complete block on email communications.
I will have to join Twitter. Can you say how one communicates with Octopus via this channel? Tks.
When I was sorting out a switch to London power (run by octopus) for the mother in law what was odd was they would not respond to any replies to emails, but when I called them a few days after not receiving a reply the operator on the phone was able to locate my emails and read them almost immediately. So doubt they’re getting lost, they just aren’t replying, which is quite odd that they havent sorted it by now.

I agree, their usual tariffs are no where near the cheapest on the comparison websites. There are plenty of cheaper providers. I've only decided to switch as I want smers2 meters and to use their go/go faster tariffs for car charging.

Actually I found that if you go digging around "All our tariffs" there are some that are up with the best from Avro & co, whilst as long as it stays at present relative levels (not guaranteed) the Tracker tariff is cheaper. It's obviously vital to compare apples with apples and of course car charging puts a different aspect on it altogether

Can I ask if anyone on this forum can share / speak from experience of using Octopus Tracker, and "rate" it accordingly against the alternatives?

I'm not sure this sort of tariff is well suited to you based on the length of time you've been considering it and the degree of certainty you are trying to obtain.
I have not yet used the Tracker tariff myself but I watch it closely to compare to the tariffs I am currently on (Agile for electricity, and a fix from last April for gas).
My gas fix was worse than the Tracker for most of last summer, but... my summer gas consumption is so low it didn't really matter.
Once it got to winter the Tracker moved above my fix and my consumption was high so I was happy.
That is just one year though and what happens this year may be entirely different.
If you want to actively manage your tariff choices on a regular basis then things like Tracker can be a good choice, but if you want to just make a decision and let it run you may be better off taking a simple fixed tariff.

Tks for the info.  My current (very advantageous) fixed dual tariff does not end until 5th April so I have to decide by then.
I reckon that in past weeks the Tracker has been about equal to the best of the fixed tariffs.  Forecasts for what they are worth are of prices dropping in summer - gas possibly more so - and on this basis the Tracker predictions should then outscore the opposition - until the autumn at least. But using and interpreting the Tracker "demo" figures seems to be an art in itself which I get the impression the Octopus sales people themselves have yet to master!

I’m going onto the tracker in a few days.
surely by looking at all the tables on guy lipmans website of the actual tracker prices in your area you can work out whether it will be a good deal for you based on current usage against what would be the current best tariff otherwise.

Judging by all your posts over the last few months it seems you want certainty that any tou or tracker tariff you go onto will provide you a saving against a fixed deal. I dont think you’re going to get that. The question is are you willing to take the risk and see what happens.

I believe that the same prices are displayed on the Tracker demo sites, together with the forecasts, so I have been using them as far as my understanding goes and making the comparisons. My feeling is that if studying past prices provides some evidence that Tracker is as good as any alternative, then one has grounds for taking an educated bet and taking the plunge.  Together with the lifebelt in the form of the penalty-free exit if the hunch and theory don't quite work out! Certainty would be a luxury in these circs. I could well be accompanying you on your move.
