Octopus Energy reviews: Give your feedback

So much for wonderful customer service. 8 weeks after switching and they produce a bill that is about 7 thousand kwh of electric off the final meter read I gave them and includes units already paid to Iresa/Octo after their collapse.
Bit alarming to see one is over a thousand in debit on the online account! Considering they produced the final Iresa bill I'm a shocked at them trying to double charge me! I was expecting a refund... I understand final reads come from the gaining supplier but surely something should have been flagged up?!
Yay for more time and energy being used to sort it out. Just glad I have pictures of the meter and that I'm on the ball enough to realise the huge error.0 -

Talk to the gaining supplier and ask them to initiate an Agreed Readings Dispute; however, before doing so, check your tariff rates. You might save money by overpaying now. The gaining supplier will only charge you for the standing charge until your meter passes the agreed opening reading. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes they have done that immediately - Enstroga bucking the trend seen on here. The readings were 7000 kwh behind my readings now so there would definitely be no advantage to keeping them! In fact I'm really at a loss as to how they managed to come up with them! Perhaps something went awry at the verification stage? Either way I'm not paying twice :eek:0

It is up to the gaining supplier to resolve this issue. That said, you have made two supplier transfers in a very short period of time starting with a failed supplier - that in my experience, was not known for getting everything right. Octopus and Enstroga may well use different industry data collectors.

Suppliers have 6 weeks from the date that your supply transferred to your new supplier to issue a Final Bill. For them to do this, they required industry-verified closing meter readings from your new supplier. The verification process alone takes 10 to 14 days.
Just because they are allowed to take 6 weeks does not mean that they should. Have recently transferred gas away from Zog and electricity from Octopus. Zog had everything wrapped up and surplus refunded within 2 weeks. Octopus is taking the full 6 weeks. One is providing good service, the other is just about adequate.0 -
Yes, I know, but the interesting thing is that Octopus received the verified gas reading the day after I switched and produced a final gas bill. It's the electricity reading they are waiting for. New supplier (Pure Planet) say both have been verified.
So I prodded them again yesterday and received a final G+E statement from them today, along with details of the refund which will take 10 days. Seems a bit of a coincidence!0 -

If you are thinking of making a switch this winter to avoid massive energy bills and if you are ready to consider Octopus as your next energy supplier then you might as well want to use my referral link below (just copy paste the 2 lines together in to your browser) and receive £50 credit :j :

They always take first payment early but it soon sorts itself out. I have been with them for twelve months and service has been excellent. All questions answered promptly. Unfortunately the new fixed twelve month tarriff quoted was aproximately 40% more than the old one, so have reluctantly changed supplier.0
