I am ex Avro and now on Avro Flexible Tariff for both Electricity - 29.23p/Kwh + SC 37.65p/day and Gas - 7.34p/Kwh +27.22p/day. My DD`s are £96/month and have not changed since the Avro days. I am now £94 in arrears. I am suprised they have not proposed an increase in my monthly DD yet. I am going to personally increase my DD to £160. Am I doing the right thing? I get 2% cashback through Santander 123 lite so I do not wish to do a one off debit card payment of arrears.

Thanks all. There is nothing in my balance history about validation.Gas usage to 7 May was approx 60% of previous month’s. Not surprising (to me anyway) because I reduced the time the boiler is on to heat water and it’s been so much warmer.I always take photos to prove my readings so I’ll just wait for it to sort itself out.Update:oliverbrown said:badger09 said:I always take photos to prove my readings so I’ll just wait for it to sort itself out.
Your gas meter readings should have been added by now. There's a form link in the latest update which you can use to raise queries: https://octopus.energy/avro/
Is your opening reading showing on your meter reading history?
Despite the warnings on the meter readings page, I had entered incorrect figure for gas. (I’ve no idea where it came from as I have photos of readings. No excuse, but I do have a lot on my mind at the moment)
Octopus responded promptly & politely to my query. Correct, up to date readings now entered & statement produced.Hopefully my head will be clearer when next readings are due.3 -
We are on Flexible Avro Octopus Tariff (FAOT). At the moment the tracker tariff or electricity and gas rates for my area are considerably lower and the standing charges are lower than our FAOT. I realise that the tracker rates can change quickly. We haven`t got a smart meter but they say that it is not necessary in order to participate in the Octopus Tracker(OT)In view of the fact that we could move back to FAOT quickly from the OT, it seems that OT is a good deal as long as you monitor the OT rates and leave it as soon as OT rates go back above FAOT rates. Have I got this right?0

Flexible Octopus attracts £4 per month electricity standing charge discount monthly credit (13pish per day off) 1 April - 30 September for existing Octopus customers
Yes can change tariff at any time.1 -

Have I got this right?Tracker has been cheaper than Flexible for the past four weeks, but of course there's no guarantee that it will continue to be so cheap. It looks a good deal if you can live with the uncertainty, and with the risk that you might end up paying the capped rate of 11p/kWh for gas and 40p/kWh for electricity!Do be aware that once you leave Flexible Avro you'll be unable to return; if you want to switch back to Flexible it'll be the regular version, not the Avro-named one. (This may not be of any significance as the rates are likely to be identical.)

Yes can change tariff at any time.Yes, my April 2022 bill has 'Loyal Octopus' @ 13.15p/day, so an effective electricity SC, in this part of the world, of 34.27p (ex. VAT).
(I then made the mistake of looking at the April 2021 bill... 22.5p/day!)1 -
Just received my first months bill on Gas Tracker. It averaged 4.79kw/h ex Vat and saved me £12.00 compared with SVT flexible tariff. I used an average of 12kw daily. Long may the Gas glut continue.3
