I think that you are right. I had latched on to the second sentence which appeared to suggest Grandfathered rights for many non EV owners on Go and Go Faster.Umiamz said:
What he said (if we're referring to the same person) was:Dolor said:The guy that oversees Octopus’ Go and Go Faster tariffs has just posted that the new condition relating to EV ownership will not be applied to existing Go/Go Faster customer accounts at renewal. For new customers wanting to select Go or Go Faster, then EV ownership is a must.
It’s only new Go & Go Faster agreements (either new customers or renewals) that will now see the requirement for an EV. Anyone on Go & Go Faster already (before that new term was added a few weeks ago) won’t be affected by this new term.
I take that as meaning the new terms will apply to both new agreements and existing agreements at renewal.0 -
Surely, Octopus should have emailed us our new tarrif rate by now.0

What tariff are you relating to?pearl123 said:Surely, Octopus should have emailed us our new tarrif rate by now.0 -
Assuming that you're an ex-Avro customer, you can keep up to date at https://octopus.energy/avropearl123 said:Surely, Octopus should have emailed us our new tarrif rate by now.0 -
From the updates they have been releasing it does appear that you're on the current Flexible Octopus tariff. You can check your rates by going to https://octopus.energy/tariffs/ putting in your postcode (don't click get a quote) and then filter the table by 'flexible' and locate "Flexible Octopus October 2021 v2". There are two instances of this tariff, but for me the rates are identical. I suspect one of these has been created for Avro customers as the tariff you'll be on must be fixed for 6 months, whereas the general tariff could theoretically go up (although not by much before it hits the price cap).pearl123 said:Surely, Octopus should have emailed us our new tarrif rate by now.

So they've switched us off Tracker to Flexible. I assume this is the best we can do. They have also almost doubled the direct debit... This is what I was quoted:
FLEXIBLE OCTOPUS
Electricity unit price
20.58p/kWhElectricity standing charge
23.30p/day
Gas unit price
4.14p/kWh
Gas standing charge
26.11p/day

Tks for the alert, I was literally on the point of asking. I believe that I am signed up - but have not had any official notificatiom. I wondet if the power hour is phased geographically?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
They did ask that people didn't post about this on social media as they felt it was in poor taste given that so many are struggling right now...

Had the email regarding our price promise tariff for gas going up from 12th November. Happy to stay on it as it's going from 3.1710 p/kWh to 3.8955 p/kWh. Standing charge is going from 25.4310p p/day to £25.0950p per day, this only adds an additional £80 annually thankfully not breaking the bank.
Will keep an eye other tariffs though, but don't expect to see any fixed lower than this until we come out of the cold season.Pennies holding up the Pounds.0
