That's where coincidence comes in. Everyone believes in coincidence except when it happens to them!

Why bother posting if you're going to bull-headely charge into the nearest lamp-post.

Let me put it another way. You have no case. Drop it, or spend a lot of money (yours and/or Littlewoods) having the FOS come to the same conclusion.

You're clearly a subject matter expert here so I'll do as you say straight away.. Or I will liases with them and find out why they did not follow guidelines on lending and credit.

    thanks for your advice.

    Which guidelines?

If you're talking about the "irresponsible lending" guidelines well, hindsight is 20/20, isn't it?

Accept you made a mistake and move on. But you won't do that now, will you!

    No, you don't.

It's unfortunate that some people stick their fingers in their ears and chant "la la la la can't hear you" over and over again, but as the French say "c'est la vie"

Come back in a year when the FoS rules in your favour. But that won't happen, anyway.

You need to start taking responsibility for your actions and your spending. If you carry on with this attitude then you will end up in more and more debt and continue to blame it on other people.

Just stop and have a good think about this. I've seen this happen to other people!

well my complaint boils down to whether my suitability was reviewed accurately and whether them apply 700 credit limits was a good idea on someone who already told them he was having money troubles.

I'm going to be honest.....please don't be offended, I am taking the time to respond for your benefit, not mine.

A £700 credit limit from a catalogue is not a huge amount in comparison. I've regularly had to reduce mine down as they kept upping it and giving me a very large limit.

They would have credit scored you on their systems when you applied for the account. This would have including researching any information they already had with you if you were an existing customer, also your income on your application, coupled with any external information from CRAs. The details they would be looking for from the CRAs would include the ER, you existing lines of credit, credit to debt ratio and payment history.
so if I was to approach the fos the first question they would likely ask is if they did a check correctly.

The first question they will ask is if you have logged a complaint with the company and if so have you given them 8 weeks to provide a response.

This is from the FOS website........
    how to complain
    1. talk to the business first

First, give the business you’re unhappy with a chance to put things right. They have up to eight weeks to give you an answer.

If you’d like us to contact them for you, just get in touch.

    2. tell us if you're unhappy?

If the business doesn't answer within eight weeks – or you’re unhappy with what they say – get in touch with us.

    3. give us more details

    you can do that online

I can see from your first post that you complained a day ago. What was their response? Did they uphold your complaint? Did they resolve it? Have they told you they will get back to you? The data added to the CRA is not an outcome.

while it was a day ago, I was alarmed to see them muck around with credit entries on experian. shortly after they acknowledged the complaint and asked me to provide my details account number etc.

if a credit check was applied to my self you would assume or expect that this information would of been reviewed.

I did have debt with Payday lenders being the primary cause I had 2 late payments due to the billing system they use. its every 4 weeks and regardless of payday they will not change they day they expect payment. ( again was not informed in a clear fashion and still is not on their websites)

I was not once informed of the AP marker being applied when I tried to resolve the issue with them.

I simply just signed up and saw they applied a £700 limit on my account.

even after the payment issues I was offered more and more offers by them and whilst not proud I had kids to clothe etc I used the account. I paid back the accounts in full, what I did not like about it was the constant bombardment about split 3 payments and offers.

very and little woods were until recently 2 of the biggest people I was paying off monthly.

I appreciate 8 weeks have not passed for the FOS to be involved.
I will usually try and meet them in the middle in reason-ability if they are reasonable with me.

I am familiar with the process of making statement and a claim i also saw others have claimed back off of very and little woods on this board with similar circumstances.

On the Littlewoods website I found this.
    Your statement
You will receive a statement every 4 weeks, which will list your purchases, transactions, payments and returns during that 4 week statement period and tell you what your next minimum payment will be.

You must make at least the minimum payment by the date shown, which is currently 20 days after the date of the statement.

    This is also on there.......
If SDFC enters into a credit agreement with you they will also add details of your agreement as well as ongoing details of your account and how you manage it to credit reference agency records. If you do not repay on time or in full they will tell the credit reference agencies who will record details of the debt. All this information will be seen by other organisations carrying out later searches and SDFC may also share it directly with the Group Companies. The information may be used to assess you for credit or to verify your identity.

Identical information on the Very website here too.
