Retirement Pension - wrong dob

They are old and hardly make it to town. I don't work close to town centre so unless I could do it in a lunch break.
Had a pint with a friend of mine yesterday and he was telling me about a Status Quo concert he attended a few weeks ago and that he had just got back from work driving a 44 ton truck around the country, he's 73.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
It might...
You may just have got the wrong person. Afaik you rang them and asked what evidence you needed to send - they told you You sent it off and, I am assuming, you rang up chasing and were told that you had to provide more
My first reaction would have been to say that I was told that was all that was necessary - that may have kicked them into action. While I get that they may not have dealt with this very well you do seem to be making the whole thing complicated too. Talking about getting a solicitor involved, not challenging their actions etc etc
Ring em again and ask why you were told something incorrect. I guess they may have a recording of your initial call to listen to
Well they do say they make a voice recording or at the minimum must log notes. The second person who I spoke to said wait two weeks and then call back to make a state pension claim.
She said that all claims are now done online or over the phone but you can download and complete the form from their website.0 -
It seems I let out the proverbial can of worms with my ill judged comment on classing my parents as old!

Seeing as you have now realised the error of your ways, we'll just put your ignorance down to youth and say no more about it:beer:

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh ( here's a health to 'em) look fit enough to take a trip into town!:)
I recently attended the wedding of a middle aged widower.
His 91 year old godfather drove down from London to Dorset on the morning of the wedding ( and arrived in good time) and had ample energy to stand up at the reception and give a genuinely entertaining speech.....0 -
When I was a child I thought anyone over 20 was old!

Which would appear to indicate that they think everything is in order. Did you ask her about the evidence needed re incorrect dob?0 -

Yep. She is the lady I spoke to the second time. I asked her that we sent in copy of passport and she said well we need 2 pieces of evidence and it has to attested if your sending in copies.
I then asked her how long will it take for the data to be corrected, she replied just apply for state pension 2 weeks after you send it in.
I think after a week I will call and see what they have done. I think applying before they have corrected the error will be pointless and will ask for confirmation in writing before proceeding.0
