Retirement Pension - wrong dob

So I called the Pension Service and lo and behold they said we cannot make a judgement on one piece of evidence and that you need to send in originals.
I bet if I speak to another person they will say something else. So I was told to go to the Job Centre and get an attested copy of her passport and a letter from her GP stating her dob and that she has been with the practice for 45 years!
So will have to book time off or can this be done in a dinner break? I would rather not send her passport and letter from the GP to the Pension Service.
 How would a letter from her GP be proof of her dob ?
Out of curiosity, what info did she supply to support her application for a British Passport?0 -

Definitely not! Not even middle-aged. 60 is the new 30 (or if you asked my Mrs M while pointing in my direction 60 is the new 15).
I would be highly offended if my son thought that I was incapable of sorting out my own affairs."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -
Your mother is only 66 - unless she is incapacitated in some way, she should be able to get into town?0

They are old and hardly make it to town. I don't work close to town centre so unless I could do it in a lunch break.
Old?!
My parents are several years older than your mum is - both have retired and are now enjoying their volunteering work, doing lots of travelling and generally enjoying life. They'd definitely be able to sort that out.
Still, I don't know your parents, so can't really comment. All I do know is that someone who is only in their 60s isn't really old.0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Failed to mention she has had a knee op - performed 5/6 procedures on it. So yeah I am doing the leg work!
As to my dad well he's in pain waiting for an op.
As to those who say its not old well I am happy you are in great health.0 -

Healthy or not is different to being old. Your parents may not be in the best of health, but they are not old!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

She has a BC but can't find it. So that was used for her passport. She was born abroad and naturalised in the UK.
The Pension Service said that can she prove she has been using her dob since when, well she has been at the same GP practice for 45 years, ergo the GP letter.
Her official NHS records are correct, they can check those if they want.0
