Quick Q ...
Has anyone changed GP recently?? I've really had enough of mine and need to change I think.. they are sloppy about getting DS3's meds out and I can't even get an appointment for anyone unless I know I'm going to be ill next week..
How long does it take usually?? How much faff?
Yes, we have. It was a doddle (though might be a bit more complicated for you if you want to take all the piglets with you).
Most of the following comes from Citizens' Advice, with a few additions of my own:
"You should contact the surgery you want to register with (we phoned) and ask if they will take you on. If they agree, they will ask you to fill in a registration form (which you can download here). Some GP practices also want to see proof of your identity, like a passport, and proof of your address, like a utility bill.
"Some GP practices may also ask for your NHS medical card or your NHS number. But you don't need either of these to register with a GP or get NHS treatment.
"The GP practice will then send your details to the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), who will write to you to confirm that you're registered with the new practice. Your medical records will be sent to the new practice." During the changeover we continued to get prescriptions from the old practice.
Our new practice also required us to fill in a new patient registration form re basic health details and how they should contact us, and to come for a New Patient Check (height, weight, meds etc). The only delay was in getting a date for the New Patient Check - but not all practices require this, some just let you see a Dr as soon as you are registered. It took us about 2 weeks in all, very easy.

Some advice for you all based on personal experience - do NOT fall asleep in the sun with a straw hat covering your face. The next day (today for me) you will look like a colander. Amazing what concealer and foundation can do though.
Sorry, but :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:....
4 hours sleep. Bit tired now. Archaeologist is digging around and so far has discovered a wall and ash pit in the middle part (oldest section) of the house. But no deaders...yet...
Been busy tidying up the caravan after the skids were here at the weekend - seriously - how messy can two teenagers be?!?
Enjoying watching my lovely young builders getting sweaty...Oh, did I say that out loud?0 -
Thanks for the lists Natty,
Sorry for your loss Katiecat. I'm with Ionafan, Piggers - find another surgery asap. I used to work in one and we would let you see a GP as soon as you filled in the form, obviously for people with complicated medical histories, a little bit of time for your notes to catch up with you is good, but any acute problems could be sorted straight away.
If it is gone, it's done:

Atb- wow! Can't believe you got all that done before the nursery run. I'm barely able to get us all dressed and ready! If I'm really lucky I might get the dw emptied or a load of washing put in!!!
Thanks FrizzleI am at my most productive in the morning so I need to make the most of it. I must say though I am often in awe of your lists - I don't think I did much other than loading the DW and WM until my kids were at least 6 months old, I was too tired! Back home now, all errands run and about to make DD lunch. Then we will probably have some quiet time (aka CBeebies time) whilst I plan dinner xx

Dailies done (but no laundry to do today), Mr A delivery booked, both deliveries due today have arrived and now I'm working my way through a huge pile of customers orders while half watching/listening to back to back episodes of Friends :rotfl: Zacks sulking as its too warm and working his way around the livingroom laying on the cool laminate. I just keep feeding him ice cubes to try and help keep him cool.
I best get on with work. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

I always feel like I can't keep up with it all but it probably sounds daft but never even considered tiredness! I guess feeding two or three times in the night does take its toll and means your not working to full capacity! Maybe I should stop beating myself up!! Just me and dd today so house seems very quiet without ds2 charging around!!!
