Nothing arrived again today so obviously not been despatched. Other buyers have said the same thing, paid for and no delivery so what am I supposed to think ? Whyso many here defending the seller ? All the seller had to say was if it had been sent but he chose not to.

Again, I ordered other items this week and all have arrived. Some people here I am sure think the War is still on hence slow postage.

I think the problem is that some buyers have a poor attitude too. I have sold something at 11pm at night and then had a message at 8am the next morning demanding to know why it has not been marked as dispatched. Many people have had the same. So some sellers assume all buyers are the same and so get defensive automatically in situations like this.

The seller has put you on edge by not marking it as dispatched. This takes seconds so there is no excuse for not doing so. It is also useful as a seller so you know what has been dispatched. The seller may be an occasional seller and so not do this.

Personally I'd open a case for not described now. Yes it is may be on its way still. Yes it may be delayed by Royal Mail. Yes second class sometimes takes a week. However the seller has a poor attitude and is happy to take your money without even bothering to mark it as dispatched or reply to your messages.

Some sellers seem to think they can take your money and the buyer just has to accept the item they get and when they get it. If the item does eventually turn up then you can always close the case. The seller will not get a defect any more.

Consumers expect sellers to work at a loss, or on razor thin margins, and provide 24 hour customer service and free next day (inc weekends) delivery.

As I both buy and sell on eBay I've seen things from both sides. eBay's due date is based on the sellers dispatch time from point of sale date (mine is 3 days) and the normal postage time for the method specified in the listing (2-3 working days in the case of Second Class post). Personally I don't like buyers who assume that sellers do nothing but wait for their order and drop everything to send their order. Most of us don't sell full time on eBay and actually have a life. I would have perhaps worded a reply to your query more politely but you would have been under no illusions what I thought of you. The estimated due date is just that. It's probably reasonable to check the day before if dispatch was not confirmed on the site. Chasing effectively 2-3 working days after the sale is just ridiculous!

The title of this thread should be "Buyer's Terrible Attitude", not Seller's.

I see more seller sympathisers are out to try and wind me up. Muppets.

So it still hasn't arrived or should I wait another week to appease you ?

A good seller IMO should notify you when an item has been dispatched but as a buyer I never contact them to ask if it has been sent.

I always wait for the estimated arrival date has passed before contacting them.

You obviously irritated the seller, rightly or wrongly, but a good seller would not have sent that reply.

I would deal with this by way of feedback.

Add a few days to your latest estimated arrival date. When that passes, open a case. As long as the seller resolves it, they won't get a defect. If they haven't sent it tracked they will have to refund if you don't receive it whilst the case is open. Once the case is opened, they have 8 days before either of you can escalate it to eBay. They can only win the case if they have tracking showing delivery.

I'd open a case. If the seller had tried to help you then fair enough. They haven't tried to help you at all so why should you wait any longer?
