Can i ask what the due date on ebay actually is?

The due date is between today and tomorrow. I have never sent items second class that got there over a week later, bank holiday or no bank holiday.

Post just been and nothing arrived except a DVD I ordered on Monday evening..

So its actually not late yet then?
Can i ask why you were asking where asking where you item was before it was even due? If it was sent 2nd class then at best seeing as ebay due dates are overly optimistic and factoring in the bank holiday its possible it will be here by the weekend which is totally reasonable .

However i do think you asking so prematurely has for whatever reason aggravated the seller hence the sarcastic response. I dont condone the sellers behaviour at all and they do definately deserve appropriate stars to reflect their attitude. But i think its possible in their eyes you may have come across as a problem buyer seeing as you messaged them twice before the due delivery date.

To be fair I was asking if/when it had been despatched which he/she hadn't indicated. No email either like all other sellers usually send when despatched hence the email. If I had got that it had been sent in the message I would be fine and wait until the due date. Instead the seller chose to be cryptic and weird in the response leaving me in the dark if it has been sent or not.

Maybe the seller is sick of buyers jumping the gun? OP has contacted him twice for something that isn't even due yet. I'd be pretty annoyed as well.

Sounds like you're not taking the seller's dispatch time into account.

if the estimate for delivery takes you to tomorrow, why are you contacting them today and contemplating an INR case?

It really does not matter if it has not passed the due delivery date. The seller could not be bothered to mark it as despatched, it is no wonder the OP is fretting about if it is going to turn up. There is no need to ignore messages or give sarcastic replies to enquiries. Really it is no wonder some sellers are struggling with sellers like this giving as a bad EBay experience

Thank you. So many posts here (as predicted) on the sellers side despite having a stinking attitude and not informing me. AGAIN, I initially contacted the seller to confirm it being sent out as i had no despatch notification. If you think that is unreasonable of me I suspect you condone the seller's conduct.

In all fairness, yes the seller has been rude and should be marked appropriately but 2 messages im guessing at least 24hrs apart from each other before the the item is ever going to be due does seem a little ott and whilst this doesnt excuse the seller neither does it reflect well on the buyer.
I would personally never contact a seller until the due date is past, not all sellers automatically mark as dispatched [n fact a lot dont , an whilst i know that can be a pain as you dont know whats happening a little patience does seem to be called for sometimes.

And contary to the ops beliefs i mostly buy and am not speaking from a sellers point of view.

Not at all i think your seller stinks , but also think you could have been a little patient as well.

No, I don't condone the seller's conduct at all but I don't particularly condone yours either.

I buy a little, sell a little less for the record.

I use feedback to decide whether I trust a seller and then just let them get on with it. Some send despatch messages, some don't. I never use Ebay for anything overly urgent.

As a seller, anyone chasing within 1 or 2 working days would ring my 'tricky customer' bell. Of course I'd be polite, but I would be irritated nonetheless.

Your seller was rude (although I actually saw it as a bit humorous as well, sorry :o) but it might help to understand the gut response to impatient buyers.
