It is an adult, showing hardcore pornography and other unpleasant images to a pre-teen and some teenage friends, away from other adult eyes.
This absolutely should be reported to Social Services (as it was), who will consider (as they did) if something should be done.
They didn't decide this was a complete over-reaction and the OP should shut up as you imply, but took it to the police. The police decided that this falls slightly short of criminality, but still warrants a discussion with the adult in question.
Stop trying to make out this is normal behaviour, it isn't!
Oh my....
Do you realise what falling 'slightly short' of criminality means? I'll give you a little hint, it means it's not criminal. End off.
Note use of a buzz word (slightly short) - completely irrelevant and subjective term
It 'warrants a discussion' - yes between the two parents. The police are basically saying they'll maybe mention it to the dad as words of advice - probably along the lines of 'watch out what you send your son, your ex is out for your blood'
I'm not saying it's normal. What the OP describes isn't normal. I'm saying what the OP describes and what actually happened are not the same thing...0 -
Got to love the very clear male/female divide on this post :rotfl:0

so basically (reading between the line as you have done so much over pretty much all of your posts) is that you can't admit that you are wrong.
You do think that an adult posting to a child !!!!!! pictures is wrong, but rather than just saying "sorry I got the wrong end of this" you are making out that the OP is exaggerating and you are totally in the right.
By doing this you are making out that it is normal behaviour for adults to post this sort of stuff to children. that is a weird stand to take.0 -

Yes that premise works so well. Throw logic out of the window, if someone says it, it must be true...0 -

Nice first post :rotfl:
I don't think there's any disagreement that if the situation is as stated then the Fathers actions are inappropriate and maybe illegal but presumably not 'illegal enough' for the Police/Social Services to be massively concerned
Instead OP is absolving her role as a parent, allowing the age inappropriate use of FB/Social Media to continue and moaning about how nasty the ex is0 -
What a load of rubbish of course they're bothered about it. It's hard to investigate, but if you had the name and address of the person, along with a load of evidence, they'd be round there. Which is what the OP has...
Yes well there are ways to describe people who use children as a weapon...
And there are words to describe adults who manipulate and groom children sexually - and those who encourage them.0 -

so basically (reading between the line as you have done so much over pretty much all of your posts) is that you can't admit that you are wrong. - Not at all. My argument has been the same through out.
You do think that an adult posting to a child !!!!!! (is that a deliberate buzz word mishap?) pictures is wrong, but rather than just saying "sorry I got the wrong end of this" you are making out that the OP is exaggerating and you are totally in the right. - I'm saying that what the OP describes is definitely a crime. So given the police haven't acted and have no intention to, suggests that the OP was unsatisfied with that and validation.
By doing this you are making out that it is normal behaviour for adults to post this sort of stuff to children. that is a weird stand to take.
No, i'm not. I'm saying that theres a difference between some harmless memes and HC death !!!!!! or whatever the OP claims is next (oh look I used a buzzword... see we can all do it, it's easy.)0 -
Whilst it might be very PC to say that these children are at risk.
In all likelihood these teens have seen worse, said worse and heard worse.
The police have clearly decided NFA, and frankly I cant see the OPs motives being the protection of those children (though it does help now to say this)
You should hear some of the young teens on xbox etc. 13 and make a sailor blush.
This is all rose tinted, my little darling angel stuff.
I do agree with you, a glimpse into the 'secret life of teens' is an eye opener, as I'm sure it always has been, only to different degrees. It's a normal part of growing up.
However, what goes on between teenagers is one thing, an adult trying to get in on the mix is not normal, it's disturbing. Forget the fact that two of the boys are this his own sons for a moment. How would you view an adult friend who spent time online viewing hardcore !!!!!! with young boys? Would you find that acceptable? I wouldn't.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
