  • Why dc197 ?????? explain
  • Don't bother with them OP.

There are odd people on the Forum that just come on at intervals to make a nasty personal comment and then vanish again for a while - ie until something upsets them personally and they decide to take it out on a poster on here.

We are on a pay as you go meter .
Who do you pay this to
Then can the landlord adjust the setting on that meter - in order to make some profit for himself?
This thread is hard work. People are trying to help but thats not possible without sensible, factual replies. The op asks why someone would think the thread is bonkers but doesn't bother to answer questions which may explain to others whats going on.
  • Hello I have answered the questions .

Do you have a metre in you're home for the bio mass boiler which shows how much you've actually used ?.

Or is it just the electric supply for the bio mass he's wired to your home and you're electric metre is pay as you go.
  • No it tells him on the computer screen on the boiler how much each house uses.
The electric supply is wired up to our house, and yes its pay as you go.
We agreed to it from our house as we was told it was to run the cost was as much as a light bulb.
Engineers agreed it was the cost of a light bulb as asked them as well .
  • That's according to LL computer screen tells him

    I don't know about "bonkers", but it's certainly a lively thread! :)

On a serious note- you need to find out what is taking so much electricity. try turning off everything in your house that uses elec, including turning off everything on standby. Then see if the meter still shows consumption of electricity.

If you can, turn off the biomass unit as well, but I know that might not be possible.

This will give you an indication over whether there is anything untoward going on (i.e. neighbour plugged in to your electricity).

If the meter is still showing consumption when you know that everything has been turned off- you can request your electricity provider comes in and test to see if the meter is faulty. After all, if everything is "off" in your house, there shouldn't be any elec consumption, right...? :)

Alternatively, you may discover that there's something in your house that is consuming the electricity faster than you thought.

The other possibility is that you may be spending far more per unit of elec now than you used to, due to a tariff change. Is that possible? (You should be able to use the buttons on the meter to check your current unit rate, which you can compare against previous annual statements, if you have retained one).
