I agree, it's amazing. When I'm in the zone with the 20g carb eating I get more energy, sleep better etc. I don't get any of the headaches or dizziness some people do.0 -

There seems to be a bit of confusion on the thread. The OP was all about cutting out/down on sugar. Sugar is a baddie and many of us slowly became addicted from childhood when we were given sweet treats as rewards, so we see sugar as comforting and as something we deserve perhaps when we have finished some work. Weight loss could well happen as a bi-product of sugar reduction but I don`t believe this was the aim of the thread. Sugar is not just implicated in insulin resistance but it fills us when we should be eating good food. It rots our teeth and gives us gum disease, which is linked to heart disease, it causes nasty body inflammations, which is linked to many diseases etc
Stands to reason that cutting down on sugar will make us healthier. Also fat is often linked with sugar in the likes of cakes, biscuits pastries so it is a double whammy, especially as the fat used is often bad fat ie not butter or olive oil
Personally I had a good day today because I got busy in the afternoon, carving wood and I don`t think of nibbling when I am enjoying a hobby. I had my chocolate but no cakes etc. I think keeping away from sugar is easier when the weather is good0 -

I would say there are two cups to one mug
Errrm...there is a slight problem to that. Being that there are mugs of all sorts of different sizes. I've got about 3 sizes of mugs myself - from quite small up to enormous. So I'm not sure that would work...0 -

But it doesn't really matter as long as it's proportionate. It just gives a frame of reference.
It's the ratio that's important. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

But what ?? ratio to 1 lb of fruit soaked in one cut of tea? Is that 4 cups of flour or two cups of flour?
I think I'm going to have to leave this recipe to all of you as I don't want to waste the ingredients. It does sound good though doesn't it?Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hi Mila.
Cup based recipes generally mean you get a cup (a normal drinking cup) from your cupboard and measure the ingredients by volume rather than weight.
For this recipe I would use one of these:
So about:
10 fluid oz of soft brown sugar (or alternative)
20 fluid oz self-raising flour
1 beaten egg
10 fluid oz of black tea
1lb (400g) dried mixed fruit
roughly. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
