Totally agree. I meticulously examine sreetview, take 'virtual' walks around the area and then always do a drive by first before even setting foot inside. I already know that the area works for us before I decide to view the house.

But then they have obviously stepped into the house, realised that it is not at a price they are comfortable paying, made their excuses and left, so what? That is how you have to market a house, by letting people take a look at it?

    What a day!

5 viewings today, spent hours in A&E with my son and got a message from the estate agent to say I had quite a few offers on my house. By the time I got out of the hospital it was too late to ring back so will ring in the morning.

Hope one of them is a decent offer because a house that had sold (we loved it and were gutted when it sold) has just come back on the market, I daren't get my hopes up though.

 Oh my!! That does sound like a right day! Hope your son is ok now. Oh no on waiting until the morning to find out the offers....!! Hope at least one is a good one. :)

Good luck with the offers, sounds very promising.
The couple that viewed yesterday have put in an offer of 5k under asking, which to be fair isn't a bad offer, just a little less than we are hoping for. Definitely food for thought. I missed the agent by the time I got out of work and was able to phone so will speak to them tomorrow, to gauge the situation and see what is happening with their sale. It's encouraging to know there is interest though.
I had a look through Rightmove tonight to see similar properties in this price range round here, and there isn't much available. I'm feeling positive :D

Fingers crossed Toc! Hope your son is ok too!

I spoke to the vendor of the house we like as we exchanged numbers. He's happy to wait for us but doesnt want to list it as under offer/sold until we have a buyer - which is fair enough.

Im going to call up the EA and put in an offer of interest anyway. The vendor told me his wife is away for 2 weeks so they've halted viewings for the 2 weeks. I need to get a sale now!

Thanks everyone my son just hurt his shoulder mucking about at school giving his mate a piggy back. Thought it was dislocated but they think it's just a muscle injury.

Pumpkin offer sounds promising, maybe you could get them to offer a little bit more if you aren't sure. It's worth a shot I suppose, good luck.

Fingers crossed you get that sale in time. I keep telling my self I shouldn't be looking at houses until we have sold the house but it's difficult not too.

Which is what I've been saying. Flat. Not much happening. It is usually a manic market with open house viewings and houses being snapped up. The minute I sell (in March), the minute it freezes.

    Fate maybe.

It will pick up again eventually.

I was chatting to my local friendly Highams Park EA a couple of weeks ago, Jo, and they were saying it does seem to be picking up again down here, so hopefully will make the way up towards you!
