No Buying Unneccesary Toiletries May 2016

UU - La roche posay redermic eye cream 15 ml - bought this as I read you should use eye creams with retinol in and this had retina in (I think). WIBA? Maybe, it was an ok eye cream, didn't see any difference in colour or tone under my eyes, was light weight though so made for a nice daytime eye cream. Used up every last scrap to get my money's worth. Have another eye cream I can use during the day then might look for something else.
That's my second empty of May (first was a boring blue nivea lipbalm)0 -
Another UU:
Alex curran luxury body lotion 150ml- WNBA hate the smell of this so UU on my feet I started on my body but decided life was too short, I'm really not a fan. It wasn't too bad consistency wise but took a while to rub in.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

Morning all, hope everyone is well.
A few little UUs which are all sample sized apart from the hand cream that has been spluttering for a while.
Nivea soft, lovely stuff wba but still have a big tub to use up first, night restoring cream, not sure what this was but it was a lovely light cream I've been testing recently. No7 daily v protective moisture cream, a little sample pot I've had knocking about forever, product was lovely but I hated the pot it was a small square shape with I tiny little opening you could barely get I finger in so had to poke a cotton bud around to get as much product out as you could. Sachet of garner ultra lift complete beauty, was going through some old mags recently to recycle and found this still stuck inside one. It was ok I've used it before. Avon planet spa blissfully nourishing hand and foot cream, very rich and an acquired scent as it's quite strong but it really nourishes. I have loads more hand and foot creams to work through before considering what I'm going to buy.
Only 2 were on my original list but using them takes me below my magic goal figure of under 250 products in my stash-I feel like I'm on the home straits now:rotfl:SPC~12 ot 124

mrs-moneypenny well done on getting under 250! :T must feel great!
UU 3 - Alpha H balancing cleanser with aloe vera 200ml - this was a handme down from my mum as she didn't get on with it. WIBA? Yes actually, I really enjoyed this as a daytime cleanser. Cut it up and scraped out every last bit. Lasted me forever. I'll have to see if my mum has any more in her stash (hers is bigger than mine!) before I buy another one:rotfl:0 -

Unfortunately it's fared up again, this time only worse not only do I have the sore dry discoloured patches, but I woke up this morning with swollen lids as well. Haven't put anything on my eyes this morning and am hoping the antihistamines will kick in soon. If its no better when I finish work for the day I'll pop into Boots on the way home.
I did try using my ultrabland as remover the last 2 nights could this be the cause? Or could it possibly a reaction caused my the mix of products I'm currently using? Will need to go eye make up free again for a few days at least until this settles down. The skin in this area is obviously highly reactive at the moment. Need to find something to stop the hyper sensitivity.0 -

Have you tried going ultra natural? e.g. plain jojoba or coconut oil? Massaged in lightly, then wiped off with water and cotton pads - they've always worked for me to take off eye makeup, and completely non-irritating.0 -

No I haven't tried anything like that as yet but think I will have to. Until a few weeks ago I had never had any major reactions on my eyes. I do tend to be extremely careful around the eye area (obviously not careful enough).
I've had lots of these sort of reactions elsewhere e.g face and hands. Annoyingly The ultrabland usually helps with the face, but obivoulsly not with my eyes. It could just be that the skin in that area is just hyper reactive at the moment and needs something to settle it.
Eyes are still swollen, hoping it goes down soon.0 -

Sorry you've been having such problems with your eyes, it must be horribleI hope they get better soon!
I've only had something similar twice - once was sunburn (silly me!) and once was a very bad reaction to a new shower gel! Anti-histamines only helped take away the stinging, not the swelling, but I was using oils for almost everything at that point, and they did help. Took a few days to calm down though - it was horrible.0 -
I finally updated my own list! I plan to buy absolutely nothing until I am on the last product or I have run out. I need to put myself on a complete ban! My major issue I have is frizzy hair, it is driving me mad. I have tried Coconut Oil, does nothing, I am beginning to think the Aussie products I have been using of late are making it more frizzy!

Have you tried doing a strand test to see what type of conditioner your hair needs? It was someone on this thread who told me about it years ago - and it's massively changed my hair! I discovered I personally needed protein conditioners rather than moisturising, and now my hair is so much better...
Good write up here: http://www.babble.com/beauty/got-breakage-how-to-figure-out-what-your-hair-needs/
But basically, take a few strands of hair that have fallen out, or pull out a few sacrificial hairs- then wet one or two, and stretch them. If they snap quickly - dry and brittle hair which needs moisturising products. If they stretch quite a bit but don't return to original length - weak hair which needs protein based products. If they stretch and return easily to original length - healthy well balanced hair!
