No children at wedding
Comments

Invites have gone out and a couple people (cousins) are not happy and won't be able to attend because their children can't. It's made me even more confident in my decision to have no children. Makes you see peoples true colours. I am pretty sure that given 3 months notice people can find a baby sitter. Another one, who has a partner, is not coming. Why can't you just leave the kids with him?0

Why should they? I've never been to a wedding where children were banned, and if they were the bride and groom would have to accept that some people wouldn't come as a result of said ban.0 -

Presume she's interpreted 'placed at an empty seat' as 'placed ON an empty seat'.

Ugh this is a tough one. I don't have kids and if I get married I probably wouldn't want other peoples screaming kids there either, save my niece and nephew who are old enough now to sit and behave!! I can see though why people wouldn't attend if their kids aren't invited... some people don't like leaving them, can't afford childcare or simply don't have someone who they can call on for an all day/overnight stay. Tough one.0

You've made your decision now, and just like your guests have to accept their kids aren't invited, you also have to accept that means some of them will decline.0 -
Oh god this subject has been done to death, has it not?
Why do people just not accept that people have the right to get married in the way they want, and invite who they want?
And on the flip side people do have the right to say no, it is an invitation not a demand or summonsWith love, POSR0 -
One of the great things about our wedding was that lots of great children ranging from zero to 14 were able to attend from all over the world, and share our joy. Memories of my Nan, playing peekaboo with her great grandchildren, who came over from the USA will always stay with me.
I personally think that the OP will come to realise that family includes the kids and they should be included in all celebrations.
That said I'm still !!!!ed off that I wasn't allowed to attend my Granddad's Funeral because i was a child. I still remember that. I was 3 at the time.0 -
I have no problem with people refusing to come because their kids can't. It's not their wedding. Frees up room to invite others.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

Perhaps they just aren't that keen on weddings - not everyone is. Why should people put themselves out to come to yours if they don't think they will enjoy it?But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion when you've only joined the site so recently...0
