Yes, it is a tweak but you only use a little so I'm not bothering...

    Full recipe on 2CC blog.

    That explains it then!

I love the Chubby Cubs, they never fail to make me laugh. TBH I haven't cooked any of their recipes, I should give them a try.

:T to debjay and beanie on your losses. Hope those on STS aren't too down about it.

I think weetabix would be fine in a cake as it is either syns or a HEB, so there'd be no issue with that. The issue is things like Lasagne crisps, couscous cake, etc.

That's a good explanation. I seem to recall it being 'abuse of free food'. My take on free food has always been that it needs to be balanced off with Speed across the day. I've never understood the point in being meticulous about having a third of Speed in meals and then messing up the balance by 'filling your boots' with free food as snacks. So if the free food, Smash or anything else, is in proportion then it's a tweak I can live with.

Although I've been 'good' all week except for the carvery I'm still feeling like I'm nearer the top of my target range. The fact that I've got jeans on that aren't just clean but new probably doesn't help.

I'm away tomorrow and Sunday, staying with family, so food won't be much under my control but I'll get back on it next week and keep plodding;). Checked my diary and I can see three meals out planned before my holiday so I'll just try and do my best in between. Hope no one minds the 'thinking aloud' ramblings.:o This thread is great for getting my head around what I'm doing.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, kippers, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: veggie omelette or JP with pickles
D: baked haddock, new potatoes, carrots and asparagus
    Syns: weekend wine:j

I went to WI yesterday morning after a three week absence and a few weeks before that of not focusing to find I had re gained nearly a stone!!!!!!!!

I have decided not to make excuses like - the house is a building site, I make a filled roll for the builder so I might as well have one too,the kitchen is about to be demolished so I can't have much in store etc.

The kitchen actually is demolished next week so I need to find my remoska amongst all the cardboard boxes if I can and make sure I have planned ahead. Even just eggs, potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes would make me eggs, SW chips with veg. Fish from freezer could be wrapped in foil and cooked with wedges and peas etc. I know I can do this if I stay focused and once things are finished I will have a nice kitchen diner with storage both in the kitchen and in an integral garage where I can put up shelves for ingredients and fill up a tall freezer with lean meats, fish etc.

Not only am I fat but my knees hurt and I don't want to be like this.

Brunch will be an omelette and snacks will be banana and yoghurt. Tonight's meal will have to feed five of us so thinking of doing a shepherd's pie following SW guidelines.

    Ninth Anniversary
    Hi everyone

2 days of not posting and there's tons to read, we are a chatty bunch :)

I love the pukka detox tea too lantanna tbh it was the smell that made me buy it :rotfl: I sniffed the box (god knows why) and I could smell aniseed which is one of my favourite smells and I was sold :D I've somehow managed to get the OH hooked on peppermint tea. He usually only drinks hot chocolate so I'm glad we found him another fave drink as he's not a huge fan of tea/coffee

Best of luck elona I'm forever making excuses like that not to eat properly and I gained the best part of a stone in the 5 weeks I was off SW, scary how it just creeps back on

    Today's food:

B - cherry bakewell rice pudding made with HEA milk, strawbs on top and an apple mid morning
L - chicken salad - lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish, egg mayo, pickled onions
T - chilli made with the usual onions & tinned toms, also adding peppers and grated carrot to bulk the mince out

Syns for the mayo and the cheats chilli con carne sachet, will work it out later

Reading all the stuff about tweaks and food abuse, my rice pud's probably considered a tweak as I'd never have a bowlful of rice with a meal. But I figure its better than stuff I could be eating. The salt & pepper chicken sounds gorgeous midge I'll definitely have to try that. I love the 2 chubby cubs :D

    Have a good day everyone

I really love the 2chubby cubs as I just ordered a delivery from Mus**foods using their discount code and also found a new customers deal which looks great.

I have been desperate to fill my tall freezer with healthy and SW friendly food and find it difficult to get to my usual butcher now I have moved. I thought I had solved the problem when I***land offered and heavily advertised home delivery only to find they did not deliver to my area!!!

Going to read some more of their blog now. :j

Well done lantanna and elona and candy. I know you're disappointed with the gains and I think illness and houses in chaos are reasons not excuses but well done for starting afresh and sticking with it.

I find the only way to maintain is to just stick with the plan as a normal, everyday healthy way of eating and every time I have an off plan meal just enjoy it and then get straight back on plan. My worst times are when I go on holiday and might be off plan for weeks but I always come home full of resolve and craving Speed!!:D

The lamb and feta pie from the magazine was lovely :)

SW recommended it with green beans (what IS it with them and steamed green beans, literally a side for 80% of the non-speed heavy recipes?) but I had a side salad of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, orange pepper, red onion and gherkins with it and it went really well.

    Today:

B - Egg and mushroom hash with baked beans and HEXB toast

D - Lamb and feta pie and salad

T - SW beef vindaloo, rice and chips.

HEXA is the feta in the pie.

Syns - 2 x party ring biscuits (3) and weekend wine.

Found out Top Bloke weighs less than me this week. We're the same height, but still :(

Less than a stone in it mind, so hoping to have changed that by the summer. In the meantime, mum's the word ;)

You'd better not feed him SW foods then!

I agree about the green beans. Personally I find them a bit tasteless unless fried in garlic butter or wrapped in bacon. I much prefer runner beans or broad beans.

Thanks for the heads up on the lamb pie. Which vindaloo recipe do you use?
