Well, so far this week I have stuck to everything I planned to do. I have had 1 diet coke a day, which isn't as hard as I thought especially at work. It might be a bit harder now I'm at home but I will fill up my squash bottle and keep that with me. I've noticed that I've become a lot more regular since starting drinking the squash so maybe that will help with the weight loss.
Syn-wise I have had between 5 and 6 1/2 every day this week, so that's working well too.
I haven't weighed myself once and whilst the not knowing is a little bit uncomfortable - how do I know I'm not gaining?! it's making me feel less stressed about it all. Constantly weighing and not seeing the numbers going down is frustrating but whilst I don't know I can't get frustrated about it. Does that make sense?
So, at the moment whilst I don't have a clue how I'm doing I don't think I've gained anything and am hoping that with the impact of the squash drinking that might help me with some loss.

  • Good morning all!

    Menu today -

    L - tuna salad.
D - sw kfc style chicken with sw chips and veg.

No breakfast as I got up quite late and wasn't hungry when I woke up.

Have to go shopping in a minute as I've got nothing in! Well except crisps and naughty things but I'm procrastinating.

Snacks will be - apples, plums, grapes. Wotsits (4 and a half syns).
Hexa - 250ml semi skimmed milk.
Hexb - peanut hi fi bar.

Same here TakeItEazy, more anxiety than depression with me but I do get the impending doom feeling regularly. I'm a comfort eater/drinker too, which doesn't help :( Hope you're feeling better soon.

Working today and a leaving do tonight plus Top Bloke's birthday tomorrow mean I'm going off piste somewhat.

    B) HEXB toast with HEXA 1 laughing cow triangle, cup of tea and an apple.

    D) SW quiche made with bacon, mushroom and yellow pepper and the rest of my HEXA on cheese.

    T) Who knows?

BM - dog walking and general pottering.

I won't be posting a menu tomorrow as Top Bloke has requested a night in with a few beers and a takeaway, which given my current mood and back situation suits me just fine, even if it will be synful. The last time I had one, it caused 'toilet issues', probably due to all the fat, so I like to think it balances itself out a bit :o

Back on track on Sunday :)

Hugs to all those being visited by the black dog. Very familiar with him myself but currently keeping him sedated beneath a lovely dose of AD and a pretty decent life balance at the moment. One never knows when he might wake up from his slumber though.

I think that's exactly the way to look at SW topgirl. It will only work long term if you can plan it into your lifestyle. What matters IMO is that the basic healthy eating plan is the default position we return to after off plan treats.

debjay, I chose my target mainly by conjuring out of the back of my mind the weight I'd been happy with most of my adult life. This happens to coincide with the middle of the healthy range on those height/weight charts. Others go for a dress size you're happy with. I know I could go lower but immediately my neck and arms start looking scrawny. Conversely as soon as I hit the top of my range then thunder thighs appear.

Sorry to hear that the black dog is yapping around. Hope he clears off PDQ:mad:.

I'm off to the pub tonight. Hopefully it won't be too painful.:( Wine syns are planned in but I'll probably have a portion of chips too.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, bacon, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, pickles (obsessed with pickled cabbage at the moment), bubble & squeak
    D: steak, salad
    Syns: weekend wine:j chips

Think mines a lot to do with anxiety too, got a few things hanging around one being hubbys new job. He handed notice in and I couldnt believe how quick the paperwork has gone through! He's already had a ref through (basically said yes he worked there). Not heard anymore from new company and this is causing me anxiety :(.
Also in the middle of decorating the kitchen but keeping motivated is really hard with this black dog :(
See! I'm sitting here typing instead of painting :o. Just need to start and I'm ok :p

Hope everyone else is doing better!
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Afternoon all

I was just about to submit a long post this morning and my bl**dy laptop crashed and I lost it all. So annoying! I've got to get a new one before it crashes for good, in the meantime I'm saving work stuff to the cloud so nothing important is lost if I get the blue screen of death.

Now to see how much I can remember:

Lush - sorry to hear about your problem, do you think it might be pre-wedding nerves/stress? I hope you get relief very soon.

Beanie - well done for your Club 10 :T

Maman - congratulations for your target anniversary. :A

Wizkid - happy birthday to Mr Wiz

TIE - hope everything is sorted out re your husbands job. Don't worry about the reference, most companies now provide minimal details to confirm employment for legal reasons.

    Welcome back Lantanna.

I cooked the puy lentil bolognese recipe yesterday and it made loads. It was okay, an alternative to meat, but I'm not sure if I'd do it again. We will be eating more as I've got enough leftover for at least 2 more meals. I might make some into soup to use it up. I had a green day yesterday, tea was Asda vegetable chilli and rice, the chilli was really spicy, DH could only manage it with plenty of natural yogurt on the side! Silly thing was, although I could have had 2 Hebs I didn't have any, we don't have tea until gone 8, and I don't need anything else.

We have 15 more 12 hour days to go after today and I'm counting the days, I'm SO tired. This weekend will probably be quiet as there's a weather warning for the SW but the sunshine is due back again next week and I'm expecting it to get busy again. August bank holiday will be the final hurdle then the children will start going back to school and we can go back to normal. It's been great actually having summer weather in the summer holidays, definitely good for business. (Does impression of Arkwright :D).

Hugs to everyone with problems at the moment. Have a great weekend everyone.
