debjay if you set your target at 9st 5lb then your target range will be 3lb up or down, ie 9st 2lb to 9st 8lb, so more or less the range you're looking at.

Well done Maman on maintaining target for 5 years. I wish I could say the same. However, I lost just over 4 stone in 2001 and put most of it back on. Then lost 2.5 stone in 2010 and same thing with regaining it. This time I've lost just over 3 stone so hoping to keep it off this time. I've kept my bigger clothes just in case though.

Any tips for maintaining? How flexible are your target weights? I was 12st 9lb and am now 9st 8lb. I originally wanted to get to 9st 9lb but am thinking I'd like to be anywhere between 9st 2lb and 9st 9lb. Is that what others do?
You've done well to persevere and lose the weight again. Hopefully it'll be third time lucky and you can keep it off this time.
My target weight is 10st 7, so I've maintained between 10 st 4 and 10st 10. I'm 5ft 9 so that makes me a size 10/12. I've kept in touch with SW with this thread and weighing in at group about once a month.
The way I keep at target isn't the official way which is (I believe) to have a few extra HEXs. I prefer to have extra syns!
I've relaxed a little bit so I don't measure milk or cereal any more but I've got a pretty good idea of how much I can have. Briefly, I write a meal plan and shopping list every week that's SW friendly and stick to plan fairly rigidly. Most of my weekday meals are very low syn or syn free because I save my syns for weekends (always have). The main difference between now and when I was getting to target is that when I eat out I go off plan whereas before I'd make wiser choices like steak and salad.
It can be a bit of a roller coaster especially in weeks like this one if I'm eating out a lot but getting back to the plan ASAP is what matters.

Well done maman on your target anniversary :T. Made me think so looked mine up, apparently I had my 10yr at target in April
    Passed me by though :rotfl:

As for setting target, it has to be maintainable! Mine was 10.2 but i couldn't stop and went as low as 9.3 but looked so ill/old :(. Now at 10.5 but hoping to get back to target or just below before I go back to work. I'm 5'5 so happy at 10.2 or just below.

As for maintaining, I 'try' to stick with SW meals during week then let go a bit at weekends which works 'mostly' for me :o.

Well done losers :T great work Beanie, the plodding works :A
Hugs to those in need :A

Black dogs been visiting today, not felt this low for quite a while. Have that feeling of impending doom :(
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice.

When I lost weight in 2001 I lost too much and went from 13st 2lb to 8st 12lb. I didn't look or feel that well. Thing is I couldn't stop losing weight so that's why I ended up that light. Then I relaxed too much so ended up putting weight on.
Thanks Denise - not really sure what my target should be. I'm 5ft 3in so BMI just under 25 I think at mo. I'm a size 10/12 from a 16. Don't want to get too low again though.
Maman - to be honest I've done pretty much that since starting in November. Stricter during week and bit more relaxed at the weekend as I need it to fit in to my life. I felt if I restricted things too much I wouldn't stick to it.
Thanks TIE - you're so right that target needs to be maintainable. I just need to decide where to set mine.

Well done maman and TakeItEazy for staying at target for so long! One day I hope to be saying the same thing!

Hope you've managed to get the toilet issue sorted lush.

Hi, Lush do you have plenty of fruit especially clementines or oranges and have you tried sennacot strongest I can't just remember the correct name, also there is. Orange or lemon Fybogel if all else fails try dynamite !!! Only kidding..:rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah I think I do, I definitely try to. Oranges are one of my favourite so we always have those in :)
I have had laxido (like fybogel - dissolvable powders) and two senna tablets before bed last night and the night before and I can feel them trying to work so have to stick with this routine (three laxido a day and the two senna before bed) for a few days and see as they can take a couple of days to work apparently.

it was +1.5lb last night shala :(

Hopefully I can get it moving and lose the two gains (2.5lb total) for next week! then I am going to call target and try and maintain until the familymoon (first week of october) then come back and be straight back on it to try and hit target for Christmas :)

    today:
breakfast: mocha wheatbran cake (1/2heb plus 1 syn)
lunch: I have about a gazzilion errands and a couple of meetings etc so I will admit there is no speed currently as its a grab and go of 2 laughing cow extra light (part hea) on 2 crispbakes (3) with prawns and a mullerlight
mid afternoon: hifi light bar (2nd 1/2 heb) - it's the new flavour to try woop woop
tea: chicken and salad most likely

Today is more like autumn than summer! It is so miserable and just started spitting. We're forecast proper rain this afternoon - still at least it will save me having to water the pots tonight!

A day with hardly any cooking today so pretty easy as not much housework to do either - just need to put the hoover round and give the kitchen and bathroom a quick wipe round. We're having a water softener fitted today, have really missed not having one for the last few years.

    Today's plan:

    B - toasted bacon & mushroom sandwich (HEB + 2)
    L - egg salad
D - beef stew & mash - stew from freezer

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - low fat spread 1; brown sauce 1. Will need extra syns for milk in teas throughout the day

    Have a good day everyone.

Congratulations on maintaining target for five years maman, that's an incredible achievement! And TEN years for you TIE, that's fab.

Lush Sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable. Pear juice is a sure-fire way to get things moving - if you can't find a carton of pear juice, the juice (not syrup!) of tinned pears is fine.

Well done on your loss and Club 10 Beanie, that's a major milestone.

Well done to all our losers and commiserations to all our gainers. Onwards and upwards (or should that be downwards?!?) for the week ahead.

I'm pretty sure I have put on weight this week so trying to minimise the damage today.

Breakfast: banana and a small glass of milk (HEA)
    Lunch: carrot & coriander soup
    Dinner: Moroccan-style chicken and vegetables
Snacks: Plums, apple and slice of toast (HEB)

ETA Welcome back lantanna, you were missed!
