Do we weigh in on Monday?

It's your choice which day to weigh in - if you go to group it will obviously depend which day you go. If you don't, Monday's might be easier, but whatever day you choose post it big and bright and the lovely Shala will spot it. :D

I find weighing in on a Monday tends to keep me on the straight and narrow over the weekend if I get the urge to go off piste, so to speak

Well !!!!!!!! I thought I'd reported in last week, but I obviously hadn't. Lost half a pound. Was a bit disappointed but know that it was because I came on overnight before the Thursday WI so hopefully it'll show this week. I am 2.5 lbs from my 3 stone and I WANT IT before I go on holiday in July.

In terms of the new challenge, can I say 7 lbs please Shala.

I'm one of those who plods on. I have been doing SW for a year now, and am 39.5 lbs lighter - so that's about 0.75 lbs a week. I have had a couple of occasions where I've been really disheartened by people who drop big numbers where I'm not, but then I realise that sometimes - like someone said above - those people are only publicising their losses. There's one person at group who only stays about half the time (which is fair enough) but I've worked out that she never stays if she's had a gain. She's been doing it about a month less than me and we've lost a similar amount of weight now - hers was all in the first three months, and she's been dicking about with the same three or four lbs for the past three months whereas mine has been a slow, steady loss. Not that I haven't been dicking about, but it's not been 3 on, 4 off, 4 on etc. (Reading that back makes me sound like an !!!!!!, but I can't work out how to word it properly. I'm just waiting for DH to get in and then I'm off to bed).

I have had to buy new bras this week. Since I started SW I've gone from a 41" back (well, a 38" with a 3" extender stretched to the max) and am now in a 34  My cup size now runneth over (well, the opposite, it fits properly, no running over at all, and a nice flat central gore. I can be a bit of a "properly fitted bra" bore at times) because I've gone from an F to an H! DH is thrilled :rotfl: I am less so because I now can't pick up cheapy bras at the supermarket!

Emmylou I recently went from a 36A to a 32DD and was strangely delighted, despite my actual boobs not having grown at all :rotfl:

My mum joined SW tonight. She's been on steroids for about a year (for the second time) and bless her she's gained a lot of weight. She's only 5ft as well, so it hasn't got much space to sit on either.

Aw bless her, my cat has been on steroids for the last six months for her IBS (:o) and I know the struggle is real!!

Ah that's a really good way to look at it. I'm going to try to bear this in mind.

I had a go at writing one myself for NANOWRIMO last year. It went okay but I'm looking forward to another bash this year!

I really fancy a go at NANOWRIMO, I always think I'd be quite a good writer, I just don't have any ideas for a plot, which is a bit of a stumbling block.

I tried to read 50 Shades out of curiosity but I just couldn't get past the first few chapters, the writing was just awful. I'm not sure she counts as chick-lit as such, but a female writer I highly recommend is Maggie O'Farrell, she's wonderful.

    Anyway, onto food:

    B - Coffee x2 :o (HExA, 2)
D - Roast veg (all speed) and quinoa
T - Speedy spag bol with wholewheat spag
Other - Coffee (HExA, 2), apple, carrot 'crisps', 3 Jelly Babies (3), Brazils HExB), hot chocolate x2 (4)
    TOTAL: 11

Carrot 'cake' baked oats just out of the oven for brekkie tomorrow and dinner and tea will be the same as today - the joys of batch cooking!

Oh bless a cat on steroids! I never even thought about that. Poor little bean.

Emmylou - you don't sound horrible at all. It was actually quite amusing. If people are going to go on about how much they've lost they need to own it when they gain too. I'm totally on your side with this

Hi all, long time no involvement. Nice to see so many new names on here too. Lots of you are really getting it together. Didn't gain over the duration of the last challenge (that I wasn't on) - but I didn't lose either!

This wasn't the best day to start as I had a planned off-plan day. tomorrow is the last day of term and so today was the last family dinner until August, so, at their request, I made the boys' favourite to celebrate their forthcoming freedom and promised that I'd join in. As a result I had chicken fajitas in tortilla wraps (yes, plural wraps) with cheese and nachos and dips and homemade salsa and ice cream and biscuits. And it was great! Thanks, boys.

I'll have to take control of my eating from now on. I have one other Danger Day on Friday when my friend is taking me out for lunch.

I read Me Before You and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was thinking of going to see the film but I'll probably give it a miss after all, as I have a particular idea of how the characters should be. If you liked that book, you might like the Young Adult book, "Faceless" by Alyssa Sheinmel, about a teenager whose face is terribly disfigured. It deals with her emotional issues after a face transplant - she doesn't feel, as everyone tells her she is, lucky to be alive, lucky to have been taken to a particular hospital, lucky that a donor was available, is she the girl she was, do her looks define/change who she is?
