UKCPS Ltd parking ticket for parking in a Parent & Child space

I recently parked in a parking space marked up for Parent and child I do have a car seat installed but my son was not with me as I dropped him and his mother off further up the car park. I received a ticket from UKCPS for doing so. It was in a retail park which has ASDA, ARGOS, Pound Stretcher etc. There is signage at the entrance to the retail park but you can't read it while driving its just too small with too much information. I went back to read the signs and you do have to stand close to read them they contain a large amount of information.

I intend to appeal this but have not read on the forums too much on the Parent and Child parking charge notice.
The reason for issue is "in parent and child bay without a child".

Any help appreciated

was that statement correct at the time of the ticket?

we can sit and argue the legalities of those bays all day long

HOWEVER , if the land owner does not want red cars parking on Tuesdays or green ones on Thursdays or even if he wants to attract"yummy" mums with children and encourage them by giving them VIP treatment , its down to the landowner , he owns the land , pays rates and can tell customers what to do (only the once)

tell them the child had his star wars invisibility cloak on and to do one

This company appears to have a problem with v.a.t.
If, as they claim, this is contractual charge, it is a fee for parking, and thus vatable. Have they accounted for vat on their paper work?

Ask them for a vat invoice. If they ignore your request, (which they probably will), it is a useful stick with which to beat them if it ever gets to court.

The reason is that there is no such thing as Parent and Child Parking - Its a marketing gimmick and nothing more!

Appeal on all the other proven points in the Newbies Sticky.

It is always correct no matter if a child is present or not - The foundation of the US marketing construct of "Mom-Time" that establishes P&C spaces is that "parents" give-over all responsibility for their children to the store for the duration of their visit in order to make their empty lives more meaningful and bearable.

So how any parent worth their salt can use such spaces, I do not know!

What evidence do they have of that?

As an aside, does the child need to leave and re-enter the car, or could one, for instance, park without child, collect them at the establishment and leave with them (like a father picking mother & child up with shopping, or a nursery, or any kind of custody sharing arrangement)?

This is UKCPS so there is no meaningful appeal process. First you get rejected by UKCPS, then you get rejected by the corrupt IAS.

Got any photos of the signs? UKCPS' signs are usually pretty poor and riddled with loopholes.

Indeed, you could have been collecting a child in store.

Because you are concerned about this spurious ticket/speculative-invoice I take it that this happened in England or Wales then?

I get these a lot in Scotland - the letters just go in the drawer with all the other cr*p from PPCs and debt collectors.
