Shouldnt the "Remain" vote be winning by a landslide??

Surely leaving the EU can't be as bad as the recession. There were winners and losers of that, but as humans we adapt to our situations and learn to cope.0

The NHS I worked in for over a decade has been decimated by the massive influx of migrants. Not to say they don't pay in, but services and funding have suffered massively.
Does that include migration between England and Scotland? Those borders are open and we never bother that so many people cross them.
Why do you think that the NHS has been decimated? How do immigrants who pay in cause the problem?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

No.
The useful Wikipedia page on the topic shows 5 polls so far in April. 4 show a Remain lead of between 7% and 12%. 1 shows a Leave lead of 1% but that's an online poll, and we know where that kind of thing leads you.

Oddly enough, it doesn't surprise me that you're too foxin lazy to fact check.:)0 -

Ah, the common sense fallacy. The old ones are the best.0 -
People will vote depending on the impact on their lives. Housing, schools, jobs etc. Open borders has been shown not to work with the migrant crisis. If we weren't an island then by now we'd be overrun.0

If the remain compaign could find a way of saying this without inevitably implying the UK government is just a puppet, they would get their landslide victory.
Assuming your correct another group we can add to the remain, which really should be giving them a massive lead.
Add in yes migrants already here who want their familes to join them will most probably vote yes, along with most on benefits who dont want to rock the boat0 -

Is the australian style system I posted not just common sense ? Regardless of party, left , right , pink or whatever. Find it hard anyone can disagree with that system even if you want to remain. Even if we remain i still think something needs be done about the volume and quality of unchecked migration especially with the free movement of IsIs in europe, hence common sense.0 -

How does that work?
Greece is a member of the EU. 85% of the unemployed in Greece don't get any benefit. Perhaps you should advise the Greeks on how they can use this 'EU human rights legislation' to get some money.Quizzical_Squirrel wrote: »...If the remain compaign could find a way of saying this without inevitably implying the UK government is just a puppet, they would get their landslide victory.
So that the Leave campaign can expose it as a blatant lie you mean?0 -
Perhaps there is more to life than money. Quality of life matters too,
Living in an ever more over crowded island with no real ability to control your borders resulting in zero ability to plan for housing, the NHS, school places and more.
Being told GDP is going up - so it's all great - ignoring the fact that GDP per person really isn't.
Seeing your kids and grandkids having to compete for zero hours contract jobs and being unable to afford a home.
Frankly I am amazed why anyone is voting remain - unless they are on the board of a major bank or multi national.
Just my opinion - but I am not alone. I just hope these young people voting remain aren't also complaining about low wages and the lack of affordable housing!
As you say all of the above is just your opinion. Since we joined the Common Market GDP per capita has consistently risen apart from recently due to the global crisis. It dropped in 2008 and has consistently risen ever since. - Nothing to do with the EU - fact
The GDP per capita of the UK is lower than many nations (we are 25th) but how come 8 of the other EU nations are higher than us. It has nothing to do with the EU, it is how our economy grows compared with others.- Nothing to do with the EU - fact
Do you really think house prices will fall outside of the EU?
We can plan but have had Governments that have not planned.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
