Shouldnt the "Remain" vote be winning by a landslide??

Its said brexit dont know what the fuure holds and cant tell us what will happen - but for me that is very exciting and liberating, who knows who or what deals we will strike, but lets just be certain we are soon to be the 4th biggest economy in the world, we wont just die overnight like the remain brigade would have us beleive . We will be a proud, democratic, pro England, self governing nation, free to do whats in OUR best interest, free from the lunucy of the EU rules, human rights, silly laws, and paying for the failing countries and the weekly fee. We can do the RIGHT thing morally for our people and strike deals globally , that is the world we live in now, not just the EU - 60% of which are failing. We are the EUs biggest consumer with 60 billion that creates massive leverage, money talks very loudly.
My chief reason is not financial, its about national pride and being democratic, its almost a sin to be a proud brit now, unless your liberal gender fluid trans binary your a racist or similar. Sad state of affiars what we have allowed to happen to us the left libtard PC brigade have had a field day in this country for too long. We cant even
Deport terrorist in case we hurt their feelings give me a break. No one is allowed to be offended anymore, guess what you dont die if you offended - now if 1 person is offended the other 5 billion people have to change to fit in, very sad. People can be offended, our answer should be so what. Its not a crime. when our forefathers fought for the very freedoms they enjoy but want to give away in a heart beat.
An emotional response, not based on any evidence.
I too believe in this great nation, its capacity to make a difference in an uncertain world, its democratic and cultural traditions. But leaving the EU and proceeding on a wing and a prayer?. When you say " but for me that is very exciting and liberating, who knows who or what deals we will strike" this shows me that you are a man without a plan.
I too want to see us improve trade with China and the US and Canada and Australia. But that requires an economy that produces things to sell. It is not the EU that stops us trading with China, it is the poor productivity of our economy. Germany has no problems trading with China. The EU is one of Chinas biggest trading partners.
Out of interest which Human Rights do you value so little that you wish to give them up. Or is it just the ECHR you object to (not that it has anything to do with the EU)? Do you want to withdraw from the UN Charter as well?
What sort of trade deal would you like with the EU?
How long do you think it will take to agree all these trade deals?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
I am getting sick of M.P.'s, Obama etc quoting trade agreements. No commentators have yet mentioned Britain becoming more self sufficient. It is o.k. having trade agreements if you don't care about some poor person earning a pittance making goods for you to buy cheaper, but at the same time jobs are being lost here. I would rather pay more, have the goods made here, thus creating more jobs. I also prefer to buy food produced locally, if we did this we wouldn't have to worry about our carbon footprint as much. I remember the days when we didn't recycle but we were more environmentally friendly than we are today.
I do not like the comments made by some in the press that those who vote to leave are idiots or don't understand economics. For the record I will be voting to leave and I am not an idiot. The main reason I will be voting to leave is that I feel we should be in control of our own laws. I still think remain will win as there are too many people who don't have confidence in Britain's ability to stand on it's own.0 -
There may or may not be decreased trade : what level of tariffs would you expect?
Say they are 2%.
Why would paying an extra 2% increase trade?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Lets remain part of the EU, lets keep free movement of jihadi's - "when" they blow up something again" can remain have an issue considering they voted yes to it if it turns out the terrorist moved freely country to country like paris to brussells etc.0

We will be able to improve our trade with other countries without waiting years and years for the EU to reach an agrement
We could provide UK sourced substitutes for EU products : so people may buy UK built cars rather than BMWs/EU sourced cars
We would have the extra money we will not be giving to the EU
We can throw out numerous EU regulations that will reduce UK business costs.
We can import products from all over the world without imposing EU tariffs0 -

Ok, it took me a while to see it but now it is clear. "Johnsmith" is a plant, an agent for the remain side, posing as a brexiter to make brexiters look stupid.
Or maybe I'm wrong and you are just a plain old boring troll. Like all trolls, you started off trying to sound reasonable but you could not contain your inner self and of late your comments have become more directly trollish and insulting.
Rumbled.0 -

Just a regular common or garden troll I'm afraid. I've had it on ignore for a few days. It's been busted on the Scotland thread too.
Don't feed it, pop it on ignore and it'll be gone in a day or two.0 -

Like you I've no time for those loons, but interesting programme on the BBC last night on the large scale migration of Jewish people from Paris to London in recent years. In difficult times Mainland Europe is finding solace in extremists.....was it ever thus.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
