Whilst I understand that reclaiming PPI independently is easy I have chosen not to do this. (So please, with the greatest respect, do not answer this thread to tell me how easy it is or persuade me otherwise) ;-)
What I cannot find on the Moneysaving website is a review of all the companies who do reclaims to help me inform my decision on how to do this.
My sister in law used Gladstone Brooks and they took 25% & VAT off her but she seemed very happy with the service.
There are other companies (Moneybackppi.com) who are only taking 12.5% plus VAT.
Is there a list anywhere or a reputable sire where I can read independent reviews please?

That is because there isnt one.My sister in law used Gladstone Brooks and they took 25% & VAT off her but she seemed very happy with the service.
I wonder if she would have been as happy had she realised the little work they do and the same outcome could have been achieved free of charge and possibly with less admin. Is there a list anywhere or a reputable sire where I can read independent reviews please?
Reviews of different types of turd doesnt stop them being turds.
Remember that all the CMC does is ask the same questions the provider does. So, why not go to the provider directly? indeed, the FOS recently stated that people using CMCs have a lower success rate than those that do it themselves.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
You can call 0800 023 4567 and talk to the Financial Ombudsman Service direct. There is no charge - not even for the call.0

You can compare prices of CMCs here http://lbcompare.co.uk/compare-claims-management-companies/
It's fairly new so no reviews as yet.0 -

and remember all a financial adviser does is exactly what you can do yourself, reviews of different types of financial adviser doesn't stop many of them being incompetent or crooks.
I wonder if people would be so happy with the levels of commission they have historically paid and the fees they now charge for someone using a search engine and a template letter0 -

What has this got to do with the OP's question?addedvaluebob wrote: »reviews of different types of financial adviser doesn't stop many of them being incompetent or crooks.0 -

and biased financial advisers who devolve to childish insults and name calling whilst refusing to acknowledge that many of their brethren were responsible for some of the worst mis-selling scandals of the last 25 years, some of whom run CMC's as a sideline should be a little less free with the insults
The OP was asking if there was any form of review site and as always it descended into name calling and insults instead of any form of reasoned discussion. I was merely highlighting that some of the posting on here comes from people with a vested interest in financial services and it is hardly a blameless profession on which to pronounce judgementWhat has this got to do with the OP's question?0 -

And do you think the op cares about that? You shouldn't pollute threads with irrelevant rubbish on unrelated subjects in your attempt to attack others. The OP was asking if there was any form of review site and as always it descended into name calling and insults instead of any form of reasoned discussion.
You did indeed start the insults. No-one else did.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I think describing all companies as turds was possibly the first unnecessary insult in this thread, and I will continue to put into context the bias and vested interest of some posters who refuse to accept the fact that their profession is responsible for many of the problems with the sales of financial services products0
