My other half is constantly reminding me that it is only a bargain if you were going to buy the items anyway. At the end of the day these companies only release these vouchers to try and get you to spend more with them than you had originally intended.

Can I have a crusty roll and some butter please with my coffee? Slightly too early in the morning for cake for me.

I would have used it though if I knew I had it :( I didn't know they did things like this at the till in Tesco, I just thought it was part of my receipt and shoved it in the receipt part of my purse.

I shopped in Aldi last week which is directly opposite Tesco too :(

Yet another reason I now have to check till receipts. I wonder if Asda do this too? Presumably it would depend anyway on the size of your shop, and mine hover about the fifty quid mark for a month to six week's worth of cupboard and freezer stuff.

If you haven't noticed already you'll find that we now have three new stickies at the the top of the board.

The first of these is a Welcome to Old Style and contains a guide to our most widely read threads and a few helpful hints.

Secondly, we've collected the Monthly Challenges under one roof, so this is now where you'll find the monthly Grocery Challenge and the Pin Money Savings. Also here are links to earlier monthly challenges and to other challenges such as the Store Cupboard Challenge.

Finally, we've collected our various Indexed Collections into one place. Primarily the Recipe Index and the Save Zillions on Cleaning Index.

We hope that these changes will allow Old Stylers to quickly find the threads they use most often.

On Monday I bought a 2.79kilo boneless pork joint. All meat, no waste, for just under £7

I did it in the slow cooker and have had one proper meal on Monday, a couple of doorstep sandwiches with a token salad last night, have stashed eight good portions away in the freezer and, of course, I now have some stock. :)

The fat that's settled on the top doesn't look too appetising but I wondered if it was any use for frying? Or cleaning floors? :)

Morning Squeaky! You made good use of that Pork joint! Well done on the new stickies, very impressive and now so easy to find everything. Please pass my thanks onto Galtizz as well.

Strong Coffee and choc cake needed here as our builders have not turned up again! One day the kitchen will be finished! I can't really move back in to it properly until all the work is done.

Gosh Squeeky - great value there! Can I ask where you bought it?

catznine - can't believe that your builders havn't turned up (again). Perhaps you need some old style DIYers to help you out! Not much use with anything but a hammer I'm afraid - but that's ok if you need walls knocking down!

Good morning! May I come in please? This is the first time I've visited the Coffee Shoppe. Do you have latte? ... and chocolate cake?
I really liked the be-ro milk chocolate cake recipe,& had a go at making it the other day - very nice, although I suspect vitual chocolate cake is less fattening....

I found all the new stickies with all the collections & have added them to my favourites list, wonder if I'll remember they are there when I need to look things up?

Funny you should say that r. mac I do need an old window taking out but think I will wait until the new one turns up! :D So hang on to that hammer!

I keep moving my breadmaker etc in and out of kitchen just in case they turn up but I guess that by 10 in the morning it's a pretty big hint that they won't be turning up today
