chopsticks wrote: »However, this bleed hasn't been "normal" and I was hoping if somebody could let me know if they have experienced the same. Basically, it started off as brown gunk (sorry if TMI!) for two days, then a day of practically nothing (not gunk, no blood), then a day of blood, then a day of gunk again. I don't know if this is just my body getting used to not being on the pill (I've been on it for about 9 years now).
I know we're not allowed to ask for medical advice and so I'm not asking for a diagnosis, I am just after knowing whether anyone has had the same?
For me this is a normal AF. My doc said its perfectly fine, but as always if its not normal for you or you are worried about it I'd advise seeing your GP, even if its just to put your mind at rest.
For example, this was the course of my last AF....
May 3rd, slight fresh spotting and dirty brown stuff.
May 4th, same as above
May 5th same as above.
May 6th heavy AF and painful
May 7th same as 3/4/5
May 8th nothing, finished.
The month before (April) was...
5th spotting/dirty brown
6th AF
7/8 spotting
9th clear
That's a normal AF for me and I have been off the pill for 4 years.

Well after 5 months of trying my wife got 2 positives this morning (couldn't help it we had to do a 2nd test) :j:j:j:j
All we did was ovulation tests last month and it worked, my wife has several fertility linked problems (polycystic ovaries and endometriosis) and we've managed it ourselves.
I tell you what I've got a massive smile on my face but can't tell anyone why (Want to wait till 12 week scan) so we are over the moon...0 -
Jamz - that's beautiful news.
Make sure she gets lots of rest, is taking folic acid suppliments and doesn't do any heavy lifting etc. Those first few weeks until the first scan can go by so slowly......if you can't wait, you can always book one with BUPA for about £100 (you can have a "belly" scan after about 6 weeks).
Congratulations."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

just found this thread and wanted to say gl and loads of baby dust to everyone ttc.
i know how frustrating it is, we were ttc for 3 years, my gp decided to run some tests after about a yr and found i had PCOS so was referred to a gyno. they ran further tests and those along with ovulation tests confirmed I wasnt ovulating AT ALL
Before referring us for any treatment they wanted to check for any other fertility problems and discovered I had a blocked fallopian tube and my husband had low mobility.
We were told we wouldnt conceive without IVF and so was referred to a fertility specialist.
Meanwhile I took agnus cactus and after a few mths, blood tests confirmed I started to ovulate
After 8 months of taking this, I stopped as we were moving and sort of believed whats the point we needed IVF.
Then the 2nd month of "giving up" (werent using condomns but werent stressing about TTC) I fell pregnant, this was a mth before our appointment with the specialist come through.
I think the fact we relaxed and werent stressed helped us a little and the agnus cactus def helped me ovulate.
I now have a beautiful DD who is 2Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
