Evening all...
Have just been catching up on the events of the past few days, congrats to the BFPs, and onwards and upwards to the BFNs...
For myself, I had a moment of excitement yesterday when I found my first EWCM :j OH rose to the occasion that night, to be following by me lying on the bed with my legs in the air will he is on his Blackberry googling whether or not I should be doing this, and if so for how long!:rotfl:
Felt very special to be thinking that we could be making a little person, though this may just be first month excitement...
Have no idea how long my cycle is as still on first month off the pill, which is going to make symptom spotting a blooming nightmare over the next couple of weeks... Have promised myself not to test until after our weekend in Italy next weekend (yey, can't wait, sunshine here we come!) but did *accidentally* buy a pregnancy test in the supermarket shop this week... oops a daisy!

So - you can probably figure out what's coming next. I'm wondering if maybe I am actually pg and what I thought was af was actually implantation or breakthrough bleeding?????
No experience of it, but from everything I have read, it always says that for the very few women who do get implantation bleeding (apparently the vast majority don't get it), it is such a small amount that you could miss it, normally only visible when you wipe. So I'd assume if you saw enough to think it was AF then it wasn't implantation bleeding.
But like I said, no experience of it myself and someone might be along shortly and say they had it and it was that much bleeding.0 -
Hi everybody, I've been lurking on the thread all week, but couldn't quite bring myself to post til now. I've definitely miscarried, it's been a horrible process. A lot of pain, physically and a million times more emotionally. I know I was only pregnant for a short time, but it's really hard to let go.
I swing back and forth about what to do next. A big part of me wants to get pregnant again as soon as I can. But I'm also terrified of trying again. I'm frightened it will take a very long time for it to happen, and I'm frightened of miscarrying again when it does. I'm also dreading May 19th next year, although if I'm pregnant again by then I might feel less distraught by it.
Things are odd at times with the DH. Most of the time we've been really close, but at other times we're in such different places it's not funny. On Saturday night when I knew I'd lost it, but hoped I hadn't. He thought I was over-reacting and wasn't it much worse when the dog died. He was shocked when I told him the dog dying doesn't compare to this. He was supposed to be flying to Spain at the moment, for his close friend's wedding. He decided he needed to stay with me, but he is still very upset about missing the wedding. And I feel guilty about him not going, but as it is now I physically couldn't manage the dogs by myself.
My doctor was about as much help as a chocolate teapot. She's part of the practice we're registered with and I hadn't met her before. But she was horrible and abrupt. Made me feel like an idiot and told me I was so stressed I shouldn't try for another baby for at least 6 months if miscarrying was making me so upset. Although at least she gave me some decent painkillers.
If we start trying again I'm going to try to be relaxed about it. No temperature taking, no ov sticks, no pregnancy tests. My cycle will probably be a bit all over the place for the next while anyway.
Thanks for all the support, it helped to lurk about and read it. Clueless1 I'm sorry you're going through the same thing. It really is hell.0 -
Any users of it can confirm or deny for me what I read on the pre-seed site? It says you should insert it half an hour before use.....does it really matter?
Hi Shelly- that one always puzzled me too - what do they actually mean by 'use'??? - Is it the moment that the swimmers are 'released', and if so how can you time it that accurately? (The mind boggles at the possibilities LOL!).
I just used to use it when I got the inkling that DH was 'in the mood' and it was around OV time, or if I was sure I was OVing then I used it and MADE DARN SURE he was in the mood! I did always find it a bit messy though, so if you can discretely use it a little while before and then remove any 'excess' before you actually get down to it.....I found that was best!
Rosie-bud - are you using OVPKs? If you are not sure if/when you are OVing I would def. get a load of cheap ones from somewhere like accessdiagnostics and use them from about day 10 of your cycle. Keep using them even if you get a +, as the line will get darker and lighter again, so you can get a more accurate idea. My FC says to do it twice a day (at 8.00am & 8.00pm for eg.) to get the best idea. If your periods are irregular you may need to do this several months following to get a pattern. this is useful info to have when you go to your GP to discuss resulst of blood tests, and if you should need to be referred on, then you will at least be a small step ahead of the game! HTH.
AF is almost here! Spotting today, but I went for my LH/FSH blood test this morning anyway and told the nurse it was day 1. Really I suppose day 1 will be tomorrow, as it's supposed to be the first day you wake up with 'red flow' but as I'll be on a plane in the mornign (sorry - just gotto keep mentioning it!) and they don't do blood tests on Sats anyway....
BP was down a bit more - 152/91. According to today's nurse the top reading is OK but the bottom one is a bit high - but she says the bottom one is most affected by stress, so that could explain it.
Well, doubt I'll be on again for a week, so take care of yourselves Gals, and I hope to come back to lots more BFP's!

Hi Gracie.
Glad you feel strong enough to start posting again. Its a very difficult time for you both and aswell as being there for each other you do need time to yourself too to grieve over your loss.
We had to wait awhile to start trying again after both of my mc's as I had D&C's with them both. The first couple of times having unprotected sex was scary and I was very tense.
Don't force yourself, wait until you are ready both physically and emotionally.
Best wishes

Thanks for the reply.
I took it to mean to insert it half an hour before having sex but I thought that most of it would escape in that half hour
At the moment we are making sure we are doing it every 2 or 3 days whether we feel like it or not so I will tell him when I have used it and in 20 minutes he had better be ready
My monitor has had me in high fertility for 5 days now so I'm hoping ov is imminent. As soon as I get the peak, pre-seed will be in and he WILL be ready :rotfl:

Hi xcat_girlx
I'm not sure but I think they say it takes around 3 months for the pill to get out of your system? - somebody correct me on this one if I've got it wrong.
Same for the folic acid to get in to your system I think
Good luck and I hope the comments on the other thread didn't put you off too much! x0 -

Yes I had fairly heavy implantation bleeding when pg with my daughter for about 2 days then it just stopped and turned to DBS.
I assumed it was my normal period only a bit shorter as had no reason to think otherwise at the time and so it was only when I missed the 2nd period that I realised something was up.
Hopefully the pg test will answer your question x0 -

GracieP I'm sorry for your loss - all the things you mention about your OH being in different place to you at times I can really relate to and apparently it is common that you both deal with it differently.
Please don't let anybody make you feel like an idiot - I had a similar healthcare professional quoting to me how common it is and quoting stats for miscarriage etc... but it's happened to you so you are allowed to feel however you feel and don't let anyone belittle your feelings.
I had an ERPC in hospital to remove what was left of my pregnancy at the beginning of last month and had AF last week so my cycle doesn't appear to have been adversely affected (usually have a 5 week cycle anyway) so I am sure it won't be long before things are settled down physically for you.
Feel free to PM me if you need to and be kind to yourself x0
