Maybe I should put the rose on hold till I do a test? I was really looking forward to my wine Friday though :p

I agree given the hormones you have taken you shouldn't assume the bleed is a true period, and assume you may be pg until you are getting BFN's a few days after AF should have been due. But also if you are not pg in terms of ttc next cycle you also shouldn't assume it was AF, which will make it difficult to predict next ov.

Hi ladies (and Meltrix if you're about lol),

I understand the BBT goes down when AF is on her way/arrives, how long before AF comes does the temp start to go back down? Or is it when she does come rather than before?

I think it is really variable from one indivual to another. On some cycles my temp has started a gradual drop as early as 5 days before AF due. Other cycles in has been up and down like a yo yo. Everytime it has always been low (around or below coverline) on the day AF arrived. There is also a so called "implantation dip" which some people observe, and if you look at other peoples charts (I posted a link a few weeks back) some stay low even though it turns out they are pg. My summary: Basically stays high or goes triphasic then :T . Drops at any point after ov, probably doesn't mean too much so try not to think about it (easier said than done  )

Hello all......well I am late. My past few AF's have ranged anywhere between 21-25 days. This is day 28! I tested yday and it was -ve, so maybe I'm late due to stress or something, so am not getting my hopes up.

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday xx

I do BBT. My temp goes down usually a day before, or just the morning of the day I start bleeding (evening/afternoon).

I have been looking through my charts this morning and I thought I'll just check my chart from 3 months ago, when I had a horrible pain in my lower abdomen, so much I could get up from bed in the morning - had to stay for extra hour and it was really really bad, not just that day, but a day before and a few after. At the point I just thought I am having the worst AF ever, 2 days early, but now looking at my charts I am not that sure... My temp didn't go down really for about a week after I started having pain and really bad bleeding (sorry if TMI, but that was the first time I noticed small cloths...). So, it makes me think it could have been a very early miscarriage... (I just keep thinking that we are never going to be lucky!!!!)

I have to say from what you described I think you are right, sounds like early m/c. However I would look on the bright side it means you concieved! (you ov'd and OH sperm must be in good shape, it implanted . . . loads of good signs you are both fertile) - so probably just a matter of time. Fingers crossed for a high temp and BFP for you tomorrow.

  • Hi all, i havnt been on here a while, unfortuantely things didnt work out so back to join you and going to try again in October. We Got to 6weeks 5 days, but I knew from the start something was wrong so I was very prepared for the worst to happen.
I'm pretty sure that most of my pain was my kidneys in the end as I still have twinges now, and going to see if it could possibly be a kidney stone as the symptoms all seem to point that way, very painful and I never seemed to get anywhere with my doctors as they assumed the pains were ectopic and wouldnt contemplate 2 things at once especially as I had a scan reveal 2 cysts on my left ovary which corresponds where pain from ectopic/cyst/urinary could be.
I'm very fed up but having 1 litre of cranberry juice a day till i can see gp on sept 2nd. So hoping for a clean bill of health ready for October.
Anyway Going to have a read back and see how you are all getting on.

Well I'm rather confused. I have never known my AF to be late, but I am approaching CD39 and I'm normally CD35. I was sure I had an implantation bleed (never bleed imbetween AF) at about the right time. However I have tested using some sensitive tests and they are BFN.
I don't feel particularly sparkling, quite tired, and keep feeling sick. I had resigned myself to the fact that my body was playing tricks on me. But after speaking to a very good friend, she told me that she never tested positive until she got a blood test at the doctors.

Is this true? Can some people not even test positive when they are PG?

I'm waiting till the weekend then I will try another brand of test. Or maybe it's all in my head and my body is playing tricks!

Yes it's true, because it depends on what's in your wee and the quality.
The day my hcg was 51.1 it tested negative by urine in the hospital labs, and I never once tested positive on a hospital pee stick.
I never save up my wee and I don't have a proper morning pee as I sleep whenever, plus i drink a variety of drinks and i drink loads (like 3 plus litres).

I got fed up with the hospital test strips and I had to keep saying you need to take my blood I dont hsow up on your strips! They argued with me that their test strips were the most accurate,( the Savers 10mlu ones where more accurate,) the hospital ones were duds if you ask me.

For some people the only true way to know is a blood test and even more so if you are quite late or early in your pregnancy.

Sorry supergirl things didn't work out for you this time. Hope you feeling better soon and best wishes for next time. xx

Honeypop-my temp used to drop the morning that AF arrived. However, the times I did get pg (had a few m/c before this one stuck), my temp increased 3 days before AF due.. Do u know the length of your luteal phase, mine was 12 days, if AF hadn't arrived by 13 days after ov I knew I was pg and each time had a BFP to confirm it. Good luck xx

    Supergirl.

So sorry it didn't work out for you. Keep your chin up and try again when you are both ready.
Try to take comfort from the fact that things happen for a reason, we might not know what that reason is but there must be one......right?
