Can I just ask what might be a silly question? What part of the IVF process requires sedation/full anaesthetic?
Is it egg collection? I've heard that can be quite uncomfortable/painful.
Thanks:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Let's just say that egg collection in my case was not pleasantNeedles are not meant to go through certain parts of your anatomy into ovaries...
The poor nurse holding my hand was lucky not to need a cast...rofl
Some clinics have full sedation, some don't.
The embryo transfer was not pleasant, but manageable - we got told off for giggling during it!The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
There is a book called 'The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility' by Nancy Dunne which I found to be very good, and lost over a stone in weight by following. I have no medical recommendation for this, but I read the book and followed the principles for a month, including the castor oil wraps - this was one of the months that I fell pregnant - and I found that it works well. All the reasoning is explained for each bit, and it made sense to me. IT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!!!!!!!!!!!! It is quite radical, and it involves eating quite differently, but for me anyway the weight dropped off!!! And although I dont follow it to the letter at the moment, the weight has stayed off. If you google it, you should, somewhere find it to download onto your computer, to then print off (it is about an inch thick!!!) You do need to use your own common sense and adapt it a bit, I kept the food very plain rather than cooking their recipes but it depends what you like - I also ate similar food most days to keep it simple, oh, and you will need to like fruit and veg!!!

You poor poor thing - Luckily I was knocked out, although only lightly so I missed all the fun and games (thank god!!) I was awake for embryo transfer though this was only uncomfortable rather than painful.

Fantastic news xredwebx - you must be over the moon! I'm delighted for you.
ginvzt - you're right, we DO need more BFPs... POSITIVE THINKING AND BABYDUST IN ABUNDUNCE!
I must get back to temping. I stopped as I freaked DH out by doing it in my sleep (the beeping of the thermometer woke us up!) - he convinced me that the whole ttc thing was taking over. The last time was about 8 months ago. Maybe I'll start again next cycle. I kind of presume that since my boobs hurt at the same time each month that that's a good sign.0 -
