You're right, there's so much conflicting evidence out there its difficult to know what is right.
Totally, for at least 4 years now we have been told all sorts. I really don't know what's right and what's wrong. I hear about women who do it once a month and fall pregnant and women who do it everyday and fall too. I guess everyone is different and its a case of it will happen when its ready.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I use mymonthlycylcles.com to track my periods and stuff if that's what you mean, naomi. I find it quite accurate for my ovulation. After using fertility sticks for a few months, it's always been right, so I'll just use that now I think. Hope you're not feeling to bad about the arrival of your period - start afresh for the next cycle now....
Yes thats what i mean it tracks your periods and estimates your most fertile times been doing it for a year now and its really good, not tried mymonthlycycles.com but am off to have a look now
Thank you

We were ttc after i had the implant removed, so didnt know what wouldhappen cycle wise, i had a child from previous relationship and she just appeared, not planning just a baby!
I used the ov strips, and as soon as the surge line appeared i turned into super cow, not having sex because i wanted, but because i had to, and if he didnt perform it caused a row, and that cycle was outta the running as we didnt want to anymore
I was soooo frustrated month after month, i used my monthly cycles, and it was useful in that it could give you a better idea of cycle length, when ovulation and periods would occur. It also let you monitor symptoms etc. even sent you an email x days before ovulation!
Anyway what im trying to say is we were trying for nearly 18 months, infact when it got to that point i was gonna go seek advice from the dr, and last month got that extra line i dreamed of!!!:D
Good luck everyone, and do check out mymonthlycycles.com xxTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Congrats cj2405 and thanks very much lwcus. 4 months to renew sperm! thats ages! and I suppose a couple of big nights out in that time mess it all up again ! Sods law eh that those who are out all the time, casual relationships etc have kids left right and centre and those of us who are just "normal" struggle for ages. Its hard not to let it take over your life isnt it.Compulsive Spendaholic #150

Does anyone know what the likelihood of early mc is.
My wife did a test on Sunday which was positive (doc appointment next week) but I keep reading all these different, rather disconcerting statistics.
Have seen, 1 in 8, 1 in 3 and 50% as figures given, not very encouraging!
Are there any signs or symptoms that will/won't occur?0 -

Hi dan.
When I lost my first pregnancy I was told that half of all first pregnancies end in a mc.
Signs/symptoms.....Please try not to think about it because every little thing your wife experiences you will be thinking is it a mc.
Both of my pregnancies ended in fairly early mc's and aren't what I would call a typical (lots of pain & bleeding) mc. I started spotting about a week after my positive test. Doctor told me not to worry as some pregnancies start like this. My cousin had regular periods for 6 months with her second so I didn't worry. Went for my 3 month scan to be told I had just an empty sac. I had lost the baby at about 6 weeks.
Same thing happened with the second pg at about 6 weeks and as I had already had a mc I went straight to the early pg unit and they confirmed the second loss.
I had no pain at all, just spotting. Without grossing anyone out...sometimes it was fresh spotting, sometimes it was old looking.
Please try not to think about things that can go wrong too much. Enjoy it!
Congratulations and best wishes

Thanks for replying, it's all a bit depressing reading things like that, especially when it's something we both really want and I'm very impatient, I want to be excited but it all seems bleak in the early stages.
So far she's feeling a little sick, tender breasts and very moody, though having referred to her as Mrs Grumpy for the last seven years I'm not reading anything into the last one.0 -
Hi all, I have just decided that I am ready to start trying for our second baby this year. Until now I was happy with just one even though OH wanted another, I had such a bad delivery with the first could have died, ended up having an emergency c-section and only had help for the first week out of hospital so I was a it put off. DD is now 2 1/2 though and we get married in June this year so would start trying then, so DD will be old enough to help me a little (pass me nappies etc) and can do more for herself then.
I am worried how long it will take to conceive though as I turn 30 in June and as a personal preference I don't want to be having any more children much older than that, I don't think there is anything wrong with others who do don't get me wrong. We were very lucky with our first got pregnant first time we tried so chances of that happening again are not good are they!!0
