Just wanting a bit of a moan really.
I gave in on Sat morning and did a preg test. (2days ish before AF due)It had a fain +ve line. Did another on Sun and it was a bit darker. Did another yesterday morning and it was fainter? There was only a very faint line today, could bearly see it even by holding it up to the light. Then I had my AF, really heavy and painful. If I would have waited until today or tomorrow before testing I would never have known.
I feel ok about things. Had a little cry this morning. Suppose will just try again next month.
Jiblets- I'm gonna do the same-order preg and ovulation tests on the internet.
    Thanks for listening girls xx

    Hi

I had a chemical pregnancy / early MC last year.

It was very upsetting however - 2 positive things. At least you know you can get pregnant.. very reassuring.
Also you are very fertile after a pregnancy - we got our BFP very quickly after my M/C ( I had one normal AF then got the BFP).

Invest in a clear blue digtal OPK - I bought one straight away after the M/C as I was soo sick and tired of TTCing - and hey presto Baby Smithy is due in less than 2 weeks after 2 LONG years of TTCing.

    Lots of baby dust

He has cut down alcohol, cigs & junk but are there any supplements etc that can help ?

I use mymonthlycylcles.com to track my periods and stuff if that's what you mean, naomi. I find it quite accurate for my ovulation. After using fertility sticks for a few months, it's always been right, so I'll just use that now I think. Hope you're not feeling to bad about the arrival of your period - start afresh for the next cycle now....
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
  • My cycle for the last few months has hit 35 days and I am currently on day 30. The wait is absolutely killing me !!

    Hi skintbut smiling,
There's a book called optimum nutrition brfore, during and after pregnancy by Patrick Holford. Its very good with a section on male fertility. I think its on offer at the momrnt on higher nature website (£5). If you dont want to buy it let me know and I can post the info/supplements here tonight.

My wife and I are currently TTC, been trying since January the 1st.

She has endometriosis and polysistic overies so we know we are going to have an up hill struggle, but fingers crossed.

It's actually pretty odd for us at the moment as we've spent the last few years trying our hardest not to get pregnant and now it's the complete opposite.

    Skintbutsmiling- got the book here.
Sperm takes 4months to produce, smoking reduces sperm count by 24%. alcohol and caffine depletes the body of Bvitamins which are important in healthy function of the sperm. Also, you shouldn't have too much sex if sperm count is low. Therefore abstain during cycle and using ovulation sticks find out when you're about to ovulate and do it then;).
Take vitamin C 1000mg. Increase intake of EFA (nuts, seeds and oliy fish) Seeds are very good as the also contain zinc.
All in all I think you should get him a good quality multivitamin and mineral formula and a separate vitamin C. Tell him to eat plenty of fruit, veg, nuts, seeds and eggs. I have recently bought "The Food Doctor" mixed seeds from Tesco on BOGOF, they are very nice.

If my fertility doctor is right in his advice then that doesn't make sense to me. Our fertility doctor says sex every 2-3 days is the best. Any sooner (ie everyday) and the sperm isn't mature enough and any later and its dead. So if a guy has a low count to start with, then is only having sex at ovulation time the first time he does it the sperm is dead anyway.

Its a common myth that if you don't have sex for say a week then the sperm is getting stored up and gets stronger. It doesn't, its dying in that time.

I dunno....I read and hear so much conflicting advice my head spins :D
