    Hiya ladies

I was just wondering if any of you had been taking your temperature and charting?

    Hi Kathy

I have been taking temp and charting for a good few months before ttc. The advantage is you can tell if you did actually ov and on what day (temp rises day after ov). This is not too useful in knowing when to BD because by then it is too late). However the time between ov and AF is very consistent (may vary from one person to next but for a given indiviual it is fixed number of days plus or minus 1 day (it is only the bit of cycle between AF and ov which can vary widley). This means you can eliminate alot of the uncertainies of late AF or BFP? Alot temp remains high if BFP and starts to drop before AF.

Also if you are having problems conceiving, helpful for Dr's to know if you are ov'ing (no temp rise = no ov) (as far as I am aware predictor kits can tell you when you might be about to OV's but not that you did OV).

I can imagine it would not suit everyone though as you have to take at roughly same time everyday after 3+ hours of sleep.

My period normally works on like a monthly cycle most of time im 28 days but then every few months its 31 days. My doctor was it was nothing to worry about as he said as long as i am getting one monthly it would suggest i am ovulating on a montly basis. oh i dunno!

I am fairly sure (although no medical expert) that the fact that you get a monthly AF does not necessarily indicate that you are OV'ing each month. Are you charting your temp? - if not I am suprised Dr did not suggest it! See my last post - but will tell you if you are ov'ing and hopeful put your mind at rest.

hi people well i was reading though the last few posts there and had some questions

Is anyone from Scotland? The reason I ask is because my doctor said he wont refer me to specialist until after two years of ttc, my OH doctor also said the same thing. Does anyone have any advice on this?

    help

Yup.....Glasgow Girl here :D . We went to docs in July last year after trying for 6 months, he referred us to the Infertility Clinic at the Glasgow Royal and our appointment was for November, but I mc in September so we canceled the appointment. We went back to the docs a few weeks ago and got another appointment scheduled and managed to bring it forward to next month:j . I don't know why we got referred so quick we are both in our mid to late 20's so it cant be age  .

    Hi all

I'm new to all this despite TTC for some time.

I'm feeling a bit confused at the moment, I had a day of pinky coloured spotting on 13th June and my AF wasn't due to 18th. I had none of the usual cramps on 13th and none of the usual feelings I get with AF.

I keep getting dizzy spells and feeling quite spaced out, been sick a few times mainly late morning. My husband said last night my nipples looked darker and they generally looked bigger.

I have already done a test and it came out as negative, so I'm a bit confused. I went to the doctors for the generally feeling poorly and he gave me some good advice and is sending me for blood tests next week just in case its hormonal.

Hi Bunnie, they certainly sound like pregnancy symptoms, but I think a lot of us on here will tell you that these symptoms can pop up out of nowhere when ttc. I think our bodies are practising. If I were you I would be leaving it a few days then doing another test, as you can certainly have false negatives, but the doctors blood test will tell you for sure next week.

Good luck with it - I hope you aren't stressing yourself out too much.:o

hey people still no AF so officially two full days late but i highly doubt im pg been getting a splitting sore headache and some twinges in stomach. I have been feeling sick for last week. I done a test which was BFN as i was bored of waiting

If nothing comes by monday then ill go and see gp but i have convinced myself im not just sooooooooo used to being let down

I am a little annoyed at how everyone elses doctors refer you after 6 months to a year of trying and me and oh are on 16 months n we have to wait until two years. I feel i may have to go back and battle with them. the only reason i wasnt concerned at time too much when i asked was that me and oh went to both my doc and his at different surgeries and were told the same thing

Oh i think i need a good cry had a really bad day at work, then arguments with family and then someone close passed away. Hopefully things will only get better

hope everyone else is having good fun and luck bd'ing

Aww bless you hun. My thoughts are with you.

Maybe it's time to go back to Dr, maybe see a different one than last time, and ask again. Say you have friends who have been referred in less time than you have already waited and if told no again ask why. It seems to eb the norm to have to wait 1 year from what I have read on here, and 2 years in an awful long time.

Maybe it might help to explain that the waiting and not knowing if there are any underlying issues are causing you unnecassary stress that would be alleviated if you could be tested to make sure nothing was wrong.

    Good luck with it anyway

Yes, V-K. I agree with Sarah. Politely pestering the doctor may well help. My surgery had told me more than once that I wouldn't be seen to query infertility for at least a year, but when I went just recently at 10 months with regards to the stress I've been feeling in trying to deal with ttc she let us have our tests. She also specifically said "since you're both here" so I would recommend taking OH along with you too. Sorry to hear you're having a hard time of it. Big hugs.

CD35 now. Getting a bit bored of waiting. Had aches yesterday and today but still no AF. Just want to get it over and done with and onto the next cycle!
  • :hello: Hiya lay-dees :D

CD 26 for me and today I am taking a different approach ;)

From memory there has only been ONE BFP result since I joined the thread in early May - so my new idea is that STATISTICALLY* ;) one of us should be getting a BFP result this very cycle :T

Who will it be? I'm feeling fruity on CD26 but Sarah Joanne is over a week ahead of me on CD35 :D

    Who will it be?

It could be YOU :p :T

I like that approach!! :j It's definitely better than my last domm-and-gloom post!!

I have to say that although I seem to be winning by a nose at this point, I have already had 2 BFN's, so there's plenty of chance for someone else to sneak ahead! and i do have distinctly AF-like symptoms coming on!!! (Namely aches in my womb area - I am pretty sure that this doesn't happen when pg but maybe someone can enlighten me?)

    Good luck to all!!!!
