Thank you to Natty for last week's thread
Do not lose heart if you cannot keep up with everyone else or reading the thread, don't try to reply to everyone and please remember to include something about flying in all your posts.
Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Ooh, ooh - I'm first to post!!!
I'm in again please x Lovely to see you back Piggers x0 -
Morning! Thanks for shiny new list Pigpen, hi Dizzy.
Paid stuff x 2 today, but DS1 isnt at work so that's one less taxi service to make. Hopefully the plumber is coming today to fix our bathroom so that we can actually let the water drain out of the shower and bath without having to scoop it out and tip it down the sink!
Better shift myself, want to get some beef in the sc so that we can have a stew for tea. I am at a committee meeting tonight so it's going to be all go today.0 -
Morning all. Happy Monday. Good to see you back piggers
I'm flying off my own list - seems to be working. I came down this morning to a lovely clean kitchen and tidy desk - ALMOST empty filing trays! Unheard of!
Finishing my tea then off to walk the beast before packing for the gym.
Have a great day everyone.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Hi all! I'm having a go at changing my tactics a bit - from 10 - 2.30 or so is going to be my 'office time' where I do my work and the bits in between and evenings are when I do my cleaning/walk dogs etc etc. Obviously this is flexible! What I'm going to do is print off last week's list and try to do levels 1 and 2 each week. At the moment the house is rather hectic - let's see how this goes.
Things with J not good I'm afraid. I was at an all time low Friday/Saturday but luckily picked back up again yesterday. He really batters my self esteem. As long as I don't talk about stuff he doesn't want to talk about we can be fine but as soon as I mention anything he doesn't like (his 'stuff') he goes silent and moody but the thing is we can't just ignore it. I know he wants me to get rid of Whiz but there's no way. I told him I love him but don't love his behaviours and don't know if I can live with it unless I see things changing. So far nothing really has changed despite my best efforts and I'm beginning to think maybe he loves his stuff more than me and the kids. I'm thinking I may go and see a solicitor just to get some advice and see what my rights would be if I did do anything. All very sad I'm afraid.
Hope all are well; sorry I've been so useless on here with keeping up and all. Not a good cyber buddy am IHave a good day all x

Re the solicitor, most do a free half hour initial interview (you may need to ask) so this is an opportunity to get advice/opinions from more than one, meet the solicitor and get a feel for them, as well as get questions answered. Don't forget to ask about their charges, too. Write down your questions, and save the tears for friends' shoulders, solicitors are far to expensive to cry on!
Thanks for this week Piggers, and last week's Natty. Life is becoming less blurred. The worry, of course, is still with us.
This weekend I got some stuff done. But there's lots to do including, to my shame, shifting 'put down' stuff. And ironing...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the list Pigpen, I'm in but working from my own lists for the first days at least.
Today is paid stuff as well as working through a mountain of washing. I've got a total of about 35 loads to do (including quilts, pillows and curtains as they were all washed between christmas and new year or there abouts). I started about 5pm last night when it suddenly dawned on me why my clean t-shirt I'd just changed into was a little whiffy! I'm already 5 loads down but being held back by a mountain of stuff I can't tumbledry which is currently filling my 2 washing lines and using up nearly all my pegs as its so breezy! I'm not even going to think about the ironing pile that will await me _pale_

Right, I best get moving. Going to throw load number 6 (jeans wash 1 of 3 or 4! Yes we love jeans in this house :rotfl:) in and then phone the dentists so I can be getting on with work by 9.30 as its such a busy day.
ETA: Dentists call made. They've given me a half hour appointment tomorrow morning! I'm surprised as normally I have to wait a week or so. So adding that onto Tuesdays list. This also means I need to get certain wash loads done asap so I have clean clothes to wear tomorrow, towels done so I have clean towels to use.... thank goodness its a relatively good drying day even if the sun isn't out!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Oh dear! Shouldn't have read the dentist story!!!!!
I had agonising tooth ache on Thursday. It has eased off a little but still a constant ache. I have an appointment for tomorrow and I am bricking it!!! I hate dentists but needs must! It is my very back tooth. Last time I felt pain like this it was either 'take it out' or spend £2000 for a specialist to do root canal. I went with the latter as it was a side tooth. Let's hope it's not the same ultimatum. Fingers crossed and any calming vibes would be most appreciated!
Anyway, thanks for the list piggers and thanks for last weeks natty.

Piggers welcome back, dear friend; I love the title of today's list. "bathroom and bog" :rotfl:
Hah! Mr LW managed to totally p*** me off this morning (not actually his fault, I was in mortal agony with my shoulder, and he was standing around like a stuffed lemon, you know the way men do) so I took out my ire on the bathroom. Even had the plugs out and cleaned all the insides - to explain, they're not just ordinary rubber plugs, they are complicated little metal mechanisms that press down and sort of lock into place, and collect gunk like nobodies business.
Anyways, I think I've got to the bottom of the shoulder business now - lovely little thing called "frozen shoulder". I've downloaded a list of exercises that should help, so between those, the Oramorph and the Tiger Balm, hopefully I'll have this thing beaten yet.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Thank you; I'm researching local solicitors. Taking a good friend with me too which will help.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
