That's me done for the month so I'm declaring £516.40 against a £500 budget so £16.40 over so not too bad for my first month back in the saddle. See you in July with hopefully a better result.

£270.44 for my June total. We've identified a few slips ups that we're still making so we'll aim to reduce them by two a month. For July we're going to try to stop popping into shops when we're in town 'just in case' and buying lunches for work for most of the week for a small scandalous fee.

Son's just finished his GCSEs and has come onboard to help reduce our spending further. We've banned hubby from doing any supermarket shops unless requested as we've identified that I'll do the 'weekly shop' and spend around £100 then hubby will do at least 3 shops whilst he's out and about and spend £20 each time, mostly on stuff we don't need or I've already bought. We need to reduce wastage as we are still overbuying and throwing out. It's ridiculous that for the three of us we've been spending more than £600 a month!! I'm aiming to halve that eventually but for now I've reduced it by £20 a week for July.

Will be doing last shop of the month today. Should squeak in under month budget, but I'm well over on annual.

Having my car is a revelation - main shop will be at Lidl. Then Aldi (didn't like it as much as Lidl, but that may be the time I went so I'll give it another chance). MrT only for stuff I can't get.

Total travel in addition to what I would be doing anyway - 6 miles.

Anyone tried the Fat free Greek plain yogurt at Lidl and Aldi. It's not as high protein as the Fage I normally get, but it's sooooo much cheaper. Is it worth the try?

Actually - looking at what I need to buy, none of it is to be eaten today. Only baked with for freezer prep and to use up some ratty veg that I don't want to chuck. SO I'm going to count it as July spending.

Therefore declaring at £262.91 for June. Best ever. Not nearly as good as some of you for only 2 adults, but I tHink Aldi/Lidl will really help - tried Lidl own brand Diet Coke. Not great, but they sell Pepsi Max at 0.29 a can. Tesco is minimum 0.31 on offer. At over 80 cans a month that will soon add up.

See you all on Julys thread.
