A couple of shops at ald! and sainsbobs and now up to 176.11 for the month. £24 for the remaining 12 days for the 2 of us so Im not sure if it will work again this month.
I have a few meals available, we usually only plan approx 4 days in advance, this weekend I will plan for the remaining days of the month and then see what extra we think we might need, I really would love to make it this month. It will be a better learning curve for us both is we really try to stick to it for the remainder of the month.0 -
Bit of an overspend at Aldo today - bought 2 X bottles wine and some little bottles of lager  DH has had a stressy, rubbish work week, so wanted to give him a treat
£56.67 - also bought a dozen tins of cat food as well as the normal shop, so apart from a bit of fresh food, should last till payday.
I may squeeze in under budgetNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
£4.29 on milk, orange juice, nectarines, apples, oranges and a pineapple. This should last until my next big shop next Friday.
Hope everyone's had a good day
PP xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!0 -
Why I have never looked at the yellow sticker products before, I do not know! Just got a loaf of hovis wheat germ bread for 9p! Reduced salad and burgers with buns for tea tomorrow, two burgers each, and the whole meal will have cost me under £3 for two of us.
I'm a total newbie at this and I could kick myself for not doing this sooner.
Spent £10.22 in total which has now brought my monthly total up to £157.70. I could hang my head in shame thinking about the £450ish we spent last month before we started this challenge! I'll drown my sorrows tomorrow with the bottle of prosecco I was given as a gift :rotfl:0 -
Evening all
More spends today at Li*l = 89p milk and Sa*ers = £8.07 on 3 x D Egg coffee. So a total of £8.96 added today.
Still eleven days to go so going to have to be careful to stay in budget this month
Hope you all have a frugal Friday

Oh dear, my spend this month looks £70 over my £230 per month but then I remembered that I bought 6 (yes, I know) jars of our premium brand coffee (half price) and 4 double-size shower gloop things for half the normal price, and four special offer toothpastes. Oh yes, and all the tins and bread flour had to be replenished, and sugar, ready for jam-making. I am freezing rhubarb like mad and plan to make a curry with some of it. But I will also make jam with strawberry and rhubarb - no need for pectin in that one!
So maybe I haven't fallen off the wagon, just had a mid-year stock-up a bit early!
SLSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread
