The best thing for cat owners is to get rid of useless moggy and get a dog that likes a walk then it will provide you with much needed exercise. Cats are a complete nonentity and no value to the world whatsoever.
I don't confine my cat, she's extremely timid & chooses not to go out. If I'm in & the French doors are open, she might sit on the patio, but won't even stray onto the grass.
I couldn't possibly have a dog, I'm out at work all day & it would be cruel to keep an animal that needed companionship alone all day with its legs crossed needing the loo!0 -

Hopefully now she will learn from the mistake. Her age has nothing at all to do with it, and as someone said, if the dog is offlead she should be watching it anyway! How would she know it wasn't running towards an on lead, antisocial dog like mine? Or about to send a kid flying? Or about to eat some poisoned meat etc etc
As for lying if we say we always pick up? I *always* pick up after my dog, who is on lead the whole time and walked on pavements. When I used to take her to the country park, I also always picked up, as does my friend whenever his (always offlead) dog goes.
No sympathy i'm afraid, at least now she won't do it again
Shouldn't children be watched at all times too so they don't go near dog-poo. If a kid goes blind then it's the parent's fault, not the dog's.0 -

Not really - you shouldn't have to be watching out for something that's illegal.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
sacsquacco, oh dear what a sad angry individual you are. Cats are the embodiment of all evil according to you. Remember the Plague, killed the cats who didn't kill the rats whose fleas went on to kick millions.
Best thing for you would for karma to step in and you get pecked to death by the angry birds. :DGrow up and take you useless bile and rantings elsewhere.

It depends where you are, by laws can mean in some areas leaving poo on a public pavement is the only time it is an offence. In the UK you don't need to pick up in woodland, moorland, common land, marshland or heath. Of course those who are blind also don't have to clean up dog mess anywhere whether the animal is a pet or assistance dog.0 -

Near here is a reclaimed colliery site, turned wildlife sanctuary and fishing lake.
Knowing that children would be walking along a certain path, a person, believing he was being helpful ,used a walking stick to flick some dog poo off the path and into some bushes.
He was prosecuted on similar grounds to those that make you guilty if you pick up someone else's litter, then drop it; being assumed to be the dropper of the faeces, because of his action.
The story was in the local evening paper, but I don't know what the outcome of his appeal was.0 -
Don't know about the rest of the UK but, just to correct the above statements.
In Scotland the appropriate legislation - Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003) - requires fouling to be picked up from all public open spaces (except defined agricultural land) and there is only an exemption for a blind person in charge of their assistance dog - not a pet.
See below for extract - pretty wide ranging - covers almost all common incidents of fouling - except on private land or gardens (even someone else's!).
Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003

- “public open place” means—

(b)
any common passage, close, court, stair, back green, garden, yard or other similar common area.
and
3 Exceptions to offence

Frankly I think it would have been fairer all round for Gabriel1980's nose to be rubbed into each & every dog turd fresh or otherwise!
A pi$$ poor attitude all round.0
