personally i don't pick up my dog's poo. It's a natural fertilizer. I'm not a child lover - but it's generally the parent's fault if they happen upon dog poo.

There you go, you asked why her fine was so expensive, its so expensive directly because of you!

Actually no it's not a natural fertiliser, dogs are ormnivores

Wasn't aware either that pavements needed fertilising

Perhaps a few fines yourself will have you changing your mind

The fine is set by the local council. If you think it is too high you could contact the local councillor
    about it.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/218807/dogcontrol-orders.pdf

48 In connection with dog control order
    offences, authorised officers of primary
    and secondary authorities have the
power to require the name and address
of a person they wish to issue with a
fixed penalty notice. In such cases failure
to supply these details or to give a false
name and address to an authorised
officer is an offence for which a maximum
fine of level 3 (currently £1000) on
the standard scale may be given
    upon conviction.

Of course if you don't give your details, they'll struggle to actually send you court papers... It's a bit of a 'crap' law

Good for you, and is your moggy confined to the house ?..No , you let it wander at will and you have no idea where it go s or what it does. You of course are the one in a million who monitors your cats nocturnal wanderings on to other people s property. For cat lovers to be critical of dog owners is definitely pot calling black and hypocritical in the extreme. Personally I dont have any pet and am neutral and not part of the war between the dog/cat fraternity but I am a garden bird lover and cats are an unnatural predator in the world and in reality they should nt be here decimating the bird population. I m seeing lots of feathers around my bird feeders all the time because of cats. Birds are declining at a huge rate because of modern farming and domestic cats are assisting hugely in the carnage. Your crutch/cat is nothing more than a murdering moggy and and an excrement dumper in my garden and not welcome. I wonder if the law allows me to dish out the same punishment that it did to a Starling yesterday ?

Crikey, you've got some issues chap!

Would they? I mean they can just follow you to your house. Or in the future simply scan the chip in your dog....

"its not a dog, its a lion"

All you people who claim to always pick up your dog mess are absolute liars. You're walking the dog in the country or a field and with no-one around, you still pick it up?! Rubbish.

I don't think £80 is enough of a fine. It's not nice for anyone to see and possible tread in dog poo, and it's just not nice to have around.

Although I think the wardens could have pointed it out and asked them to clear up, if the wardens were not there then would they have not noticed at all and just walked off and left it? I would say pay the fine for doing the crime, put it down to experience, and next time keep a better eye on what the dog was doing.

I am a dog owner (and either me or my husband has picked up every poo my dog has ever done since having her, thank you very much We have even been and cleaned the pavement if she has done a squishy one with a bad belly!) There is no excuse not clearing up after your dog, if you want the fun of having a dog then you have to put up with the cr*p that comes with it!

Don't judge everyone by your own standards!

I live in a country area where lots of dogs are walked, and fortunately most of the owners do pick up.

Calling someone a "selfish scumbag " is every bit as disgusting as that ladies dog having a call of nature unbeknownst to her. I note you are a cat lover, so when was the last time YOU picked up your cats poo.My garden is a draw to wandering cats who deposit all over in a sneaky way compared to dogs but their excrement is a damn sight fouler than any dog. I have never heard of any cat owner picking up after their cat..the reason..they re not aware where they have deposited it..I really wish cat owners were stung with an £80 fine

About half an hour ago, I don't fancy sharing my home with a poo in a litter tray, and puss certainly wouldn't be pleased either.
