***lets Stop These Ebay Scams***

  • Paypal "cover" is a myth. I have been contacted by soooo many people that didnt get their money back from paypal cos the "scammer" had already withdrawn the money and that it wasnt there to get back, or there was some "other" reason, like the above from Ashok, that meant the guarantee was invalidated.

These scams are now relentless and putting them up on the ebay forum for the 900th time doesnt get you anywhere either, just ask the posters.

These are hard lessons to learn that only end up with the honest joe doing his dough.

I bought £800 of Amazon vouchers, they were at a 10% discount, so I would hsave saved £80..

Ashok should you be buying and selling on EBay? You seem to be the unluckiest person around at the moment!

    Your not lazymoezie are you?

In fact it is illegal for you to have an EBay account:-

If you'd really like to know I'm a 15 year old boy, who's already made alot of money through a group of websites that had over 30,000 users. :p
  • Just for any of you who thought that all of the 3 listings mentioned were genuine, please click on the middle one of the three listings for a surprise. The guy has received one feedback already.

Not sure what its about as the only words in the feedback are "conman". Suffice to say, this is another one of the many ebay WILL NOT STOP. Ill await the other two but i wont be shocked to find out the same.

I expect no apology from the people who questioned me, negative people never do, they just look to abuse.

I just hope i aint got to wait another week to see 3 more people conned tho i know thats whats gonna happen and ONCE again, ebay will NOT be interested and just strike em off........ AFTER INNOCENT PEOPLE HAVE LOST MONEY....................AGAIN.
  • You're preaching to the converted Richie. If you really want to bring this to people's attention, you need to take it to somewhere that has a 100% ebay user traffic and a good deal more visitors.

  • The listing has now been taken down, either the high bidder (also with zero feedback??????) has paid him an imaginary £0 and will then post fantastic feedback or ebay have ended it....once again after the event.

How many more times? I have posted everywhere Fay but no one is interested. Im happy to be right but id be happier if ebay did something about this. I am still awaiting ANY replies from them with regard to 6 of these cons.
  • When you say you've posted everywhere... where do you mean?

Perhaps you now appreciate that ordinary ebay users are powerless to do anything about this kind of listing until there is some kind of evidence of wrongdoing that allows us to report them.

The best thing you can hope to do is attempt to get through to an ebay rep.

  • Im not going on a one man crusade Fay. Ive got things to do like everyone else. Just wish that when i and others reported these guys, 5 days before in these cases, that they would listen. I get replies all the time from people who have been ripped off sayin that all they ever get is automated "thanks for your concern, we will investigate " etc etc replies and then they dont get back to you....AT ALL?

This cant be right, surely? Any other customer service that behaved like this would be dammed but cos there is no comeback on them, nothin changes. Just wish panorama or someone would do somethin. People are losin £1000,s every week. I even got a message from one guy, a watch retailer who has said people want proof that his watches are genuine after those customers had bought watches from ebay for hundreds of pounds to be sent fakes and then, when questioning the seller, being told that the watch they sent out was real and that THEY must have swapped it !!

Ebay is becoming a scammers paradise. Ill take a deep breathe now but if i had the money to do it, id investigate it myself but i dont.

The monies ebay make.....every second of every hour, they could afford to have their own full time police and fraud squad but then why would you want to stop someone listing a scam when you get paid for doing so?

Im gonna have a lie down and take my tablets before my head explodes!

Look at the last link in the 1st message then look at the link above, practically exact same wording, item location listed as UK both by new registered users with different names and on different dates, however they just look too identical to be different people, methinks these are the same person!!!
  • Just wish that when i and others reported these guys, 5 days before in these cases, that they would listen.

Trouble is, a strong suspicion, even a firm conviction, is not enough for ebay. Innocent until proven guilty applies, sorry!
"thanks for your concern, we will investigate " etc etc replies and then they dont get back to you....AT ALL?

If they get that kind of message, what are they doing? reporting the listing? That won't get them very far, they need to be opening a dipsute and taking it up with their credit card people.

Also, if they read the email more carefully, they'll probably notice this:

'To ensure that we can quickly and efficiently act on each report that we receive, we do not ordinarily follow up with 3rd party reporters or users with the results of our review, or the rationale for our decision. We will take the appropriate action for each individual case, which may involve removing an item or simply issuing a warning. '

It means you won't get a follow-up, so if they want a follow-up, they're in the wrong place.
Just wish panorama or someone would do somethin. People are losin £1000,s every week.

They might, if someone contacts them. Try Watchdog, they're big fans of ebay.... not.

What I'm saying is that we could sit here for days in our cosy little ebay forum on a money saving site which doesn't get all that much ebay-related traffic, harping on about how terrible all these scammers are. Well yes, they are, but what will posting here about it achieve? Not a lot.

If you could just confirm (verbally is fine, I don't need proof) that you have posted on an EBAY forum, at ebay.co.uk, which has a lot of ebay traffic, and actual ebay staff who post, I'll get off your case. But as I say, you're preaching to the converted here.

  • Fantastic spot Blaise !

Looks like they are now branching out into holiday vouchers ! Why not, its more free money for em

Once again, no feedback, high priced item !! I will report this to ebay, it would be nice if a few more would do so also but dont be shocked at the automated reply with no follow up and once again, another poor so an so loses their life savings.
