***lets Stop These Ebay Scams***

  • I have never been scammed but I may just have been lucky. I never bid or buy now on ebay unless I have done quite a bit of research on the seller. The best advice I can give is to read this forum as just about every scam known has been posted on here at some time. As to reporting listings the simple answer is usually you cant as they are not breaching any policies. I recently out bid everyone on a voucher scam just to save a few innocent buyers. This was over a week ago and I have only just had an email from ebay warning me not to pay!
  • I report the voucher listings every day an all i get is the automated email. Then i here about the people losing money. Then i hear that the said user with limited or zero feedback has been struck off.

No good to the buyer who loses out. Just trying to highlight this an i challenge any of the above listed ebay item holders to proove me wrong.

Seriously... post on Q&A - if there's anything that can be done, they'll suggest it. And you'll have a slight chance of an ebay member of staff taking note.

You don't have any proof that these are scams though - one of them even offers pick-up in person.......

(agreed, they are a little suspicious, but there is no proof)

2 of them are from sellers registered a day apart and both only have one item listed. Personally I would not touch them with a bargepole. Go post on the eBay forums as there are people over there with a lot more experience than us and they sift out a way. Let us know the link when you have reorted. Set up a new ID for posting by the way - if some of them do not like what you have posted they'll start ripping into your listings and sales. i posted one a few years back when I was a new trader and it was child !!!!!! i had found it when I was looking for photography and had complained and asked how to report it. I was pretty new then and used to use the forums for advice but then they started ripping into my listings and because I was selling undies they started posting all my listing photos and slagging me off. Some of them are weird and a little cranky, but they do get the job done and will help you more.
  • I cant prove that the above are scams. Not until ANOTHER person has lost money, then, i will know but it will be too late.......again.

Conmen and scammers dont let you know that what they are doing is a scam. If they did, this post wouldnt exist.

Blue Monkey is right. They are 1 day apart and guess what? Have high priced vouchers for sale. If im wrong, i hope ebay strike me off and all my feedback for this but i KNOW im not wrong.

Watch this space, another honest person is gonna lose money and its one prediction i will make, without a crystal ball.

I'll leave you to it then, as long as no-one who reads this thread gets ripped off, it's all good

I bought £800 of Amazon vouchers, they were at a 10% discount, so I would hsave saved £80..

He sent me the codes, then added them to his own account, so I lose £800... PayPal didn't do anything as it was a virtual item.

You wouldn't have been covered anyway as full paypal protection only covers up to £500.
