Wow congratulations Clara.

I wonder if it was the acupuncture that got things going or even the peace of mind that something was being done with you going for your hospital appointments. They do say these things can be just as much mental as they are physical.

We've just had a pregnancy announcement at work today. I was expecting it though, I could just tell and she'd let slip a few weeks ago she had been TTC for nearly a year.

I know what you mean, I'm really trying to stay grounded and not let my head get too far ahead of me.
I called the midwife centre and she has registered me and given me my first appointment for a months time. She also gave me a 12 month scan date for September which happens to be the day before we go on holiday. So all going well we can go and relax and enjoy what could be our last holiday for a while.

My acupuncturist mentioned they might want to give me an early scan because of my PCOS so will see what they say.

Thanks Athens, I really do wonder about the acupuncture. Like I had said the other day, it seems like too much of a coincidence but i'm not completely convinced. But that was 3 months almost to the exact day that I started seeing her and she did say at the beginning it would take about 3 months to balance my hormones. I guess I'll never know!

I'll keep myself up to date with this thread, but I'll try and post very little until I move over to the other thread. I understand that one persons good news is probably not that great for all you other lovely ladies who are struggling with announcements xxx

Congratulations Clara that really is amazing, a few days ago we were all discussing your next steps and now here we are, I definitely agree its something mentally.


I got a positive OPK just now. We BD weds and yesterday and going to try every day now until Monday. It will be a similar pattern to you Clara so fx it works for me too haha!


Last month I was massively obsessed and ovulated four days later than normal so I do think stress plays a huge part even though you have moments where its so hard to switch off from TTC. cx

We are actually a bit confused the about conception date as the acupuncturist said last night that she thought that I was further on than I thought. Clear blue said 1-2 weeks (with mid afternoon weak urine) but she reckons that the night i got the positive OPK that it was actually implantation and had conceived earlier than w/e of 9th July ??? I took another digi at lunchtime there (hadn't been to the loo for over 4 hours) and it said 2-3 weeks!

So confused! Don't even remember BDing between gynae apppintment on 30th June until 8th July :rotfl:

Clara were you trying with OPKs every day? I normally get 3 or 4 in a row so even if you'd ov'd more like 7/8 July that could be just enough to tip you into 2-3 weeks?

Cats, I think I gave up on the OPKs on 22nd June after my long spell of flashing smileys on cb digi. We BD'd on 22nd, 24th, 27th June and then not again until 7th July. Had positive ICOPK on 8th (out of the blue - only noticed cramps and EWCM) and BD'd 8th, 9th and 10th.

I don't really see how we could have conceived before that weekend of 9th July, but didn't want to tell her she was wrong lol
