Welcome Kirtsyppos.
I'm also breastfeeding and not yet got my period back.
Well done on the weightloss skimper. I need to get back to the weightloss wagon.0 -
 I'm another still breastfeeding and TTC. I've had a few months of periods now but my OPKs suggest I'm ovulating late with a short luteal phase which won't help with getting pregnant. Flashing smilies started on the CB tests on Thursday, hoping for a static early in the week which would be a more normal time, end of the week will suggest another short LP.
Congrats on the weight loss skimper! I know you posted a little while ago about the mental side of TTC and we're on pretty much the same cycle so I was on CD1 when I read it and wasn't in the right place to reply. AF is crappy at the best of times but couple it with the realisation that it's another month that you're not pregnant and it's a massive downer for me. OH has been disappointed each month too but last month was particularly hard and we sat and acknowledged that my hormones will be going crazy at that time and so he's aiming to be a little more considerate about my snappy/crying outbursts.0 -
I agree hophop, it's not just the realisation of its another month out but then knowing I have to tell OH and he's going to be disappointed too, I hate having to make him upset. I pretty much didn't speak to him for 3 days, all I wanted to do was hide in bed and not talk to anyone. It takes me about a week to get over AF turning up.
I finally have my first infertility appointment on Thursday.0 -
I've just got back from my appointment with the clinic. They have basically said all they are willing to do is my 1 & 21 day bloods, and a pelvic scan.
They won't refer me to have a hsg/hycosy untill I've lost some weight, and after that the only option is ivf but I have to drop 10 points off my bmi before she will refer me for that.
I'm feeling so deflated and down right now, I knew my weight was going to be an issue but I atleast thought I could get the hycosy done. They won't do it because they said that having belly fat can lead to not being able to see the scan properly.
UPDATE 4TH NOV.
I managed to get in for my pelvic scan pretty quickly, I went in and she said "you realise it's an internal exam" nope I did not! Haha. Oh well all done and dusted, said everything looks fine, one Ovary was larger but they said that was due to ovulating 2 days ago so she's not concerned about that. So still no one can tell me why it's not happening!0 -
Welcome kirstypoos
That is totally understandable why you felt deflated Skimper. How much in weight does 10 points equate to? You have been doing great loosing weight recently! That's great news that your pelvic scan was so quick. It's always good to know there is no problem but then also frustrating as you kind of want something to be found so it can be 'fixed'!
Well... we are PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise) now! I had my embryo transfer yesterday, so now we are in the very long TWW. This is the closest we have every been to being pregnant, and I just really really hope our little embryo is getting comfy in there!0 -
How exciting ppk, fingers crossed its comfy and you get your sticky bean.
Yeah my friends works on the scan desk so she rushed it through, luckily I have an understanding boss who's letting me have the time off I need. That's exactly how I feel, if they find something they can fix it other wise it's just back to crossing my fingers.
10 points is about 5 stoneI've lost 11lbs so far and OH has lost just over a stone. We're doing keto and it's coming off pretty quick atm. I want to lose enough to get the hsg first and hopefully the weight loss & the scan will help.

hi all sorry don't mean to intrude & hope this doesn't come across rude in any way at all.
i would be interested to know if any of you have considered a surrogate?
It's something I am considering but it still seems to be very taboo in the UK (though legal) hence info is quite hard to get hold of. Would like to hear other's thoughts or experiences.
(again apologies if this seems rude or isnt thread appropriate, as i say i'm just trying to get more info/first hand experience not nesc of actually using one but even consideration of it. I am by no means in any way suggesting it).0 -
Oh gosh that is more than I thought skimper.... however, 11lb's is AMAZING! It sounds like you are both really committed and this really is the perfect motivation for you. Have the doctors given you another appointment in a few months so they can see if you are closer to the bmi?
Sorry little_green that isn't something I have consider or can advise you on. I have also been part of this thread for a long time and never seen anyone discussing it so I don't think this thread is the right place for your question. You would be better making your own thread in the forum.0 -
I know, it seems so far away! I've been on Keto since Saturday & lost 4lbs already (was calorie counting previously) so i'm hoping to get to my first stone off by this weekend!
I'm part of a facebook group and people are losing 10lbs+ a month, so hopefully if I keep on it, it will only take me 5 months to get there/close then hopefully she will book us in!
They are sending a new appointment in the post so I don't have it yet, but I need to do my bloods again first. Cd1 will probably be next week.
Little_Green I would echo what PKK has said, it would probably be better to make your own thread, people who have considered it my not read this one so you may get more responses.0 -
PKK that's amazing! I really hope your little embryo is burrowing in nicely.
Skimper 11lb is amazing! I've heard good things about keto so I'm sure the rest will fall off. It's also good for confirmation that you ovulated.
Little_green - I'm lucky to not need to consider a surrogate, but my SIL has been a surrogate for another couple giving them twins a couple of years ago. Surrogacy UK is a brilliant resource and it's where my SIL has got in touch with her intended parents so I'd recommend signing up with them.0
