Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13

I was breastfeeding, my periods had not returned and for good measure I had had the contraceptive injection (things had gone a little pear shaped during the pregnancy and delivery of 2nd son and we had been advised it wasn't a good idea medically for me to get pregnant for at least two years)…..somehow, youngest happened.
This was after trying for 3 years to have middle son, fertility treatment, countless operations and drug treatment etc (I had endometriosis), we were flabbergasted and in complete shock for weeks.
I know it can happen, which is why I'm not back on contraception. With DS though I wasn't fertile until I completely stopped breastfeeding. DD was conceived the following month!0 -
We actually thought we were fairly safe because of the breastfeeding and non return of periods but decided (on medical advice), to 'triple lock' with the contraceptive injection....youngest is as determined and stubborn now as he was then :rotfl:
As I said it was a huge shock for us and although I would never be without him now, it did lead to a lot of soul searching combined with pressure to terminate the pregnancy for my own health. In the end we (obviously as he is about to enter his third year at university), decided to carry on with the pregnancy with the thought that for a pregnancy to be achieved against such odds, that it had happened for a reason and was meant to be and to hell with the risks.
The risk we took was definitely worth it.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Welcome back rambosmum.
I'm just entering fertile week, so time to start some BDing.
Now there's a few more of us do we want to start doing the lists again?0 -
Hi everyone - just checking in... no news here....
Big hugs for everyone. It's hard eh?
I would have been due the end of this month if my pregnancy had progressed - we're going on holiday for a week so hopefully after this month my head will be in a better space.
I'm trying not to think that every month might be my last chance (I'll be 42 in September and I only have 1 ovary) and trying not to think of the potential age gap (J is 4 now).
Work has been stressful for both me and hubby - and he's facing a possible osteoarthritis diagnosis which isn't ideal to say the least.
Nothing much else to say really - hugs to you all. xxRock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -

Cd25 here, AF due around Wednesday.
Last night I had a massive headache, feeling sick, couldn't get warm. Today i'm feeling really unsettled, bit of nausea but very slight, like nothing is fully settled in my stomach & a bit bloaty, few back twinges too and im convinced my right boob is bigger than usual.:rotfl:
I'm trying not to let my mind run away with me, I know more than likely AF will turn up.
I have some frers coming tonight from amazon - same day delivery! So i'll probably test tomorrow.
My BF has just told us shes pregnant after trying for about 20 months with PCOS, so it would be amazing if I was too! I could have a Mat Leave buddy haha.
How is everyone else getting on?0
