  • Skimper, I would take a test if I was you just so you know! We seemed to have a flurry of BFP's after a period like bleed in the last few weeks.

Wootsit, fingers crossed your decision about the job was the right one :). It's hard when you have to make decisions about something that would be affected if you got a BFP. With most things I am thinking, well I'll do it then worse comes to worse I pull out (such as concert tickets) but a new job is a different ball park! I started a new job just as we started TTC and took the risk that if we got a BFP we would be down financially. However when I worked it out it was only a few hundred pounds difference so not really that much of a risk!

Held in my wee for a good few hours and tested when I got in, BFN. I would be around 16dpo so it probably would have shown if I was.
I'm not disappointed as I was expecting it to be negative anyway.

Fingers crossed for your Christmas miracle Skimper!

I have been the same PKK - we haven’t been too bothered about most things, including a holiday! The OH said to go for it but my current job pays full pay for 6 months - to just have SMP on the other would be massive as I wouldn’t be able to have as long off. (I know I am very lucky with the full pay and know others do only get SMP)

Being nosey and trying to get to know everyone - how old is everyone? And how long have you been trying? My MIL called me old the other day (32 next week) - don’t feel that old to be trying! Haha.

    Thanks wootsit!

I'm 29, 30 beginning of January! We've been trying 9 months (10 cycles) . Haha my other half calls me old all the time, he's 25.
  • hi guys I'm new on here.. But I just wanted to be part of a community to help me really.. Been trying since July.. And thought maybe I'm preggers but came on this morning after 5 days late.... So hi guys xx :rotfl:
  • Hi Leah, welcome!

Wootsit I will be on SMP when the time comes, will just have to tighten our belts while I'm off work. It's not ideal but unfortunately all the jobs I've been in have all been SMP.

I'm 26, been trying since July. Have been with my husband for just over 8 years so feeling like we maybe should have started trying a little earlier.

Had one of those days...friends who don't know we're TTC wanting to book concerts for way later in the year. DH offered to book a little hotel break for end of Dec but the main selling point for me is the spa which I couldn't use if I got pregnant. I hate myself sometimes for thinking like this...the hotel isn't that far away so we'd mostly be staying for use of the spa and a nice meal.

How's everyone's week going so far??

  • Thanks for all previous welcoming comments. AF arrived and at first I was gutted but then the dog had a 'day', puked at my feet while I was making breakfast, crying at me all day because she wanted something but didn't know what and I was happy to have a drink come evening!

I guess everyone likes the idea of being able to tell family over Christmas but in the grand scheme of things ...

Wootsit I've also been looking at new jobs and it's tough because I would feel bad to go off within a few months of starting but figure it is better to apply before BFP than after!

Wootsit I’m 35, I’ll be 36 in June. Fella and I got engaged a few weeks ago and I made it very clear I didn’t want to wait too long to TTC due to my age and the fact that we won’t be getting married until 2020 at the earliest. Fella was more than happy to have baby first so fingers crossed it doesn’t take too long!

AF is due on Sunday for me but, unusually, I haven’t had any symptoms. I usually get cramps a week before but nothing. I highly doubt I’m pregnant so we’ll see when she shows up.
