Ariel85, welcome to the board! We are a similar age. I also wish I had stopped by pill earlier, but as we were getting married I didn’t want to risk AF arriving during the wedding/honeymoon! I am definitely not going back on the pill if we are lucky enough to conceive as we would like two children.
Ginger, I have realised that you aren’t on the lists – would you like to go on?
I find this forum such a comfort too. There are only two people that know we are TTC in ‘real life’. One is a family member who is over a year further in the TTC journey than us and she has been going through fertility treatment so her advice and opinion has been invaluable. The other is my SIL who we recently told, she conceived both her children within 1 month of coming off her contraception so she doesn’t understand the emotional side but we are close to her and very drunk when we told her! Haha
Had my hair cut yesterday and got the question….’So when you have moved house does that mean it’s time to start trying?’… anyone else stomach just churn at those type of questions? I’m not angry she asked me, just sad I had to smile sweetly and say ‘We are hoping to have a baby next year’ rather than ‘actually we are pregnant!’.0 -
Could I be moved to the If in doubt zone please?0
-
PKK I'm more at the stage where I find it awkward when someone asks, I don't know what to say so say nothing and then everyone feels awkward lol.
Was visiting a family member in hospital last week who jokingly said about going to the maternity ward (because it's a nice new building) and said I'd be more likely to be going....to which I had no idea what to say lolDebt Free as of December 2020 👏

PKK yes actually I will go on the lists please. I didn’t want to when I joined because I didn’t want to be stuck at the top for ages with my long cycles but they seem to have settled down now. CD2 today.
My SIL also conceived the first month off birth control. I hate being asked about it as well. It sounds silly but neither OH or I really like being around kids so I think family sometimes think it’s ok to ask because they don’t think we’ll want them.0 -
The whole questions about having children is horrible. OH and I met in 1996 and were married in 1999 so you can imagine the whole raft of questions and comments we had to deal with until I got pregnant in 2014! Had some particularly horrible ones from MIL. My mum was amazing and never ever asked or said anything! When we moved into our current house it sparked a lot of rumours. J was just about to turn 2years old and the house had 3 bedrooms...
Goodness, people are such nosy gossips aren't they?!

yes I definitely feel awkward too! Mostly because I hate lying, hence why I don't exactly say 'we aren't trying now' but word it differently, but also because I don't want to tell everyone and his dog our private business!
I think many years ago I would have fallen into the trap of asking people these types of questions. But this was naivety. Now I am older I know about what COULD be happening behind closed doors (infertility, baby loss) so I know the pain that question or joke could cause.
Gosh Aunty-Pickle all those years married with no baby - you must have been the local scandal hahaha (Joking!). We have been married 15 months and it has been the constant question.0 -
We have been married 7 years. Got the question a lot at first but seems to have died down now. My mum has stopped asking too as she knew I didn't like the questioning!
First bit of advice needed....
I had what I thought was the first day of AF Wednesday. My cycles have been irregular since coming off the pill so didn't think too much of it when my last cycle was only 23 days. Did have really sore boobs leading up to this though and still is the case, even though af has finished now. This is unusual for me, they usually stop hurting on the day af arrives. I had a nagging doubt and did an OPK thismorning which came up positive, this was just one of the strip ones rather than a smiley face one.
I then went to Tesco and bought 2 HPTs and took one. There is faint line. I'm just really confused as I had 3 days of bleeding, used tampons and everything. Wondering whether this has been a chemical. I'm going away with work today so have taken the other test with me and may test in a few more days to see if the line is any darker....
Really want to be feeling more positive but not feeling it with how much bleeding there was0 -
I feel the same PKK!
Ohh Ariel, I have everything crossed for you that this could be your BFP!Debt Free as of December 2020 👏
