I have eaten by body weight in chocolates my relative brought me back from America.... time to get my positive pants back on! I'm going to throw myself into arranging the house move and Christmas prep to try and take my mind off it

AF has stopped & hoping my OPKs arrive tomorrow so I can start testing. OH was at the doctors this morning & mentioned we were TTC & the doctor recommended I go in for some tests, they said once we reach 12 months it will be quicker to get a referral if all tests have been done.
I think i'll wait until Christmas & if we haven't conceived by then i'll make an appointment.

Hello, please can I join you lovely ladies? Been a lurker on these boards and have finally taken the plunge to post.

I'm 34 and we have been TTC since June when I came off the pill. Since then my cycles have been a bit all over the place but the last 3 have been really short. OPKs show I ovulate between CD14 and 16 which is good but then AF arrives around CD21. Hoping it's just that I've not been off the pill too long and it's taken some time to settle but a part of me is getting worried about having a short luteal phase.

AF arrived this morning so CD1 now. Just feeling a bit sorry for myself today! Decided with my hubby that we wouldn't tell anyone we are TTC but finding that hard now as don't feel like I have anyone to talk to about this, hence part of the reason for posting!

Will stop waffling now but nice to 'meet' you all :-)

Welcome Ariel85, I hope your stay with us is short.

I wouldn’t worry too much about your cycles just yet. It can take a good 6 months for your body to go back to normal after coming off the pill, which pill were you on & for how long out of interest?

I came off the mini pill just over a year ago and my cycles were up the left for a good 8 months. They still aren’t totally back to normal yet but the fact you can tell you are ovulating around the same time every month already is great.

It’s difficult not being able to talk to people about TTC, this forum is great for just getting things of your chest when you get frustrated or when you have a random question.

I was on cerezette (mini pill) and have been since I was 18. Realised I aged myself by a year in my original post, am only 33 - oops!

Hopefully it is just taking some time to adjust, I'm just impatient! I should have come off it earlier but hindsight is a wonderful thing! Interesting it took you about 8 months, I think I need to stick with OPKs to have any idea of when I might ovulate. It always seems to be around the same days but it differs in terms of how many high days there are before the peak. Think we may be out for this month before it has even started as husband is working away.

Not quite CD1 for me yet, just a bit of spotting today.

Skimper, I think I’ll also see the Dr if we haven’t conceived by Christmas.

Welcome Ariel! In hindsight I also wish I’d come off the pill earlier. I had long, irregular cycles for a while then my first ‘normal’ one I got a positive OPK six days before AF. It settled down after that though and now I usually OV around CD14 on a 27 day cycle.

I don’t know what I’d do without the ladies on this forum! A couple of my friends have guessed we’re TTC but by that I mean they know I’ve stopped taking the pill. They don’t know I’ve turned into a mad woman obsessing over it every day, logging every little thing on apps, system spotting like crazy and peeing on various sticks throughout the month! Honestly I don’t think even OH realises the extent of it.

I know, I've become pretty obsessed too. I'm just concerned about my age and it seems like everyone around me is pregnant at the moment. It's nice to be able to discuss on here, OH is just of the thought that if it happens great but let's just play it by ear so reassuring to know others are getting obsessed as me!
