Hope you're feeling better soon PKK!
  • Aww PKK!! Hope you're not in pain!! Great news you ovulated though!!

Well the witch got me! I just want to thank everyone so much for your support during my very crazy time lol. I have bought myself a bottle of wine to enjoy hopefully tomorrow night.

I spoke to DH before AF arrived today and I think we're going to stop trying as such and just see what happens...I really feel like I'm putting my life on hold - I've stopped riding my horse in case I'm pregnant, hadn't been drinking during tww until this month, not taking IBS meds when I really need them etc.

I'm still young (mid 20s) and sometimes I feel like I want this more than anything and other times I feel like I would miss my freedom...have any of you ever felt like that??

  • Sorry to hear the witch got you CCJ.

Im older than you, Im 32 and OH is 37. Weve been together for 11 years and we did hold off on TTC for a long time to enjoy being young. Weve travelled a lot and made some amazing memories but I do sometimes wonder if we made the right decision waiting so long. I think whatever you do you will always question if its the right thing.

Ccj- I totally get what your saying. I sway from wanting kids more than anything to thinking can I actually do this or want this? Having a person to look after for the next 20 odd years till they fly the nest to being really jealous of people with babies. It's so weird.

  • Sorry to hear the witch got you CCJ. At least you know where you are now with no more uncertainty. Definitely treat yourself to the wine!

I have my leaving drinks on Friday and start my new job on Monday, I am going to have a couple and not worry about it as it is still early days for this cycle yet. I do know what you mean by missing your freedom. Especially at the moment with my job changing I do think maybe it's not the right time, but I would hate to put it off even longer and then regret it. Whatever will be will be as they say.

  • CCJ, like Ginger I am also 32 and my OH has just turned 38. When we met 6 years ago we made the decision to do lots of things we wanted to do that would not really be possible once we had children, which being honest was spending lots of money on amazing holidays and making amazing memories that we can remember when we are sleep deprived and covered in baby sick! hahaha. Now we feel ready to be a family and have a baby. At your age and situation I would take the relaxed approach as you suggested. Continue living your life normally and doing fun things, and if a baby is meant to be right now it will be meant to be. Maybe after some time you may want to refocus but I think in the early days a more relaxed approach at your age isn’t a bad thing!

Having a child is a huge commitment and life changing event so I think it is normal to feel nervous and maybe a little scared about it!

Thanks for all your kind wishes ladies (again!). I am still in quite abit of pain but it is manageable and hopefully will ease off over the next few days. I have no reason to go out today so I will be resting my leg alot which I think will help!

CD17 for me - nowt to report :)

PKK - have a look online for waterproof foot covers, when I broke my ankle t was a god send, it kept everything dry but also means your foot floats when you get in the bath! don't get me wrong actually getting in and out of the bath as interesting! but really good to be able to have a relaxing soak while the leg floated :) wasn't too expensive either

CCJ- so sorry to hear the witch got you this month. I know it's almost harder to take when you've been a few days late as well as you have that little bit more hope. I'm 29, so just a few years ahead of you, I would say to keep going but definitely take a relaxed approach. Having experienced nearly a year now of irregular cycles after coming off the pill I personally wish I had come off it a bit younger. Also we've decided we will not use any forms of contraception again until we've had all our babies :rotfl: as we know it will only get more difficult as we get older.

I definitely agree with not putting your life on hold at such a young age, but would suggest letting nature just take its course without actively trying to prevent anything. Just my two cents on it but of course it's your decision, you'll always have support here either way.

PKK- sorry to hear you're still in pain, hopefully your rest day today is helping. However what brilliant news from the doc about ovulating! Keeping everything crossed for you :T
